      Job Description

      Ares Infrastructure Debt (“IDF”) is hiring a Vice President to join its team in NY. IDF is a global investment team (with members based in New York, London, Madrid, Singapore and Sydney) deploying capital across a variety of infrastructure sectors including power, energy, transport, utilities and telecommunications. Since 2000, the team has invested over $11bn+ across 100+ infrastructure debt assets.

      Candidate Profile:

      The successful candidate will have the ability to make immediate contributions to the IDF investment strategy in North America. This candidate should have significant experience leading the assessment, structuring, execution and management of investments in North American subordinated, senior, and unitranche infrastructure debt. This will include coordinating and conducting due diligence, financial review, preparation of presentation materials for investment committee, documentation review and negotiation, etc.

      Primary functions and essential responsibilities:

      • Review investment proposals and prepare term sheets
      • Build financial models and determine appropriate capital structure with acceptable levels of debt and equity.
      • Perform in-depth diligence into investments, to develop a deep understanding of the merits and risks of potential investments.
      • Prepare and present investment memos to the investment committee.
      • Conduct regular market research and competitor intelligence identifying trends and new business areas.
      • Assist in the identification of opportunities.
      • Assist in the preparation of pitch proposals and marketing materials for new business activities.
      • Support portfolio management for each investment.

      Qualifications:

      • At least 7 years of experience originating and executing deals in project finance/ infrastructure debt. Experience in related markets or related infrastructure products is a plus.
      • Brings an in-depth and highly contemporary knowledge of the evolving infrastructure credit environment – policies, competition, technology…etc.
      • A thorough understanding of project finance structuring and documentation, including construction arrangements and contracts, and off-take / concession contracts
      • Strong credit analysis skills and ability to determine relative value of investment opportunities
      • Experience in negotiating transaction terms & conditions and documentation
      • Ability to convey a sense of urgency and to work productively with both office investment teams, as well as external clients.
      • The inclination to seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organization's overall strategy.
      • The ability to set clear and challenging goals while committing the organization to improved performance; tenacious and accountable in driving results.

      • Bachelor’s degree required. CFA, CAIA, MBA or advanced degree are preferred

      Compensation

      The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

      $210,000.00 - $225,000.00
