- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance to operational standardized processes and procedures.
- Create an operational culture focused on service, solutions and communication leading to the highest levels of service and customer satisfaction levels in the transportation industry.
- Drive improvements in people, process, and technology with continuous focus on self and team development.
- Responsible to deliver continuous service and cost improvements through strict adherence to organizational KPIs.
- Align operational initiatives and strategies with Hub Group’s Account Management organization.
- Drive cost reduction through operational efficiencies.
- Drive service enhancements by working with Hub’s dray and rail partners.
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain or related field is preferred.
- 10 or more years of operations and management experience in the transportation sector, preferably the Intermodal space.
- Excellent oral communication, written communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, as well as proven analytical ability.
- Must demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, customers, and vendors.
- Experience developing a business plan and leading a team to accomplish the defined strategies.
- Basic knowledge of accounting procedures preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment.
Job Summary:
The VP, Intermodal Operations is responsible for the operation of Hub Group’s intermodal business across a defined region. In this role, the VP owns optimization and service management for 3rd Party and Hub Group Trucking in a defined region as well as Terminal Operations. Their focus will be to drive continuous improvement in service and cost savings through strict adherence to organizational KPIs and operational processes.
