Position Purpose: The Vice President, Corporate Communications is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of statewide branding, public relations, and digital initiatives that help to build and evolve the brand. Responsible for the written communication, and digital content to ensure the integrity of the corporate mission, and brand. Provides strategic counsel and a collaborative partnership for internal and external communications across a spectrum of platforms, and multiple departments in support of maintaining the corporate mission, brand and goals. Oversee the execution of strategic Statewide, regional, and local public relations programs that support corporate marketing goals and key messages.
Lead annual communications strategy development and planning process in concert with advertising
creative and media buying initiatives to ensure a comprehensive, integrated plan.
Ensure accuracy and consistency in all information that is released, including proper internal reviews and approvals.
Assist with crisis communications/reputation management planning and response.
Oversee the ongoing execution of core digital initiatives and properties, including the
external website, Intranet, social media, and paid media through promoted/sponsored content. Provide support for email, text, online rewards-based programs, and other new initiatives as assigned.
Oversee regular content development and collaborate with department leadership and other stakeholders on the evolution of the Intranet to meet the ongoing and changing information needs of employees.
Oversee content development for select publications, working in collaboration with the department's creative team and other business partners as appropriate.
Assist in the assignment of appropriate metrics and ROI for department projects and initiatives.
Manage assigned staff in a proactive, responsive manner.
Ensure the integration of communication and graphic standards in all projects and assignments.
Must be well organized and a creative problem solver, with high attention to detail. Education/Experience: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or other relevant field. Minimum 10 years senior leadership experience, with progressive responsibility in a corporate communications or advertising/public relations agency environment. Demonstrated ability to establish credibility through rapport, collaboration, and quality of work with colleagues at all levels. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively across all levels of the company and interact confidently with senior management and other stakeholders. Demonstrated experience to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, with ability to turn plans and concepts into actionable programs that generate measurable results and ROI. Experience in a highly regulated environment.
