      With our extensive Ambulatory Surgery Center footprint, Hospital geography close to Philadelphia, vast outpatient clinic presence, Rowan University academic partnership, integration of and significant capital investments being made into our practices and Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Division, Interventional GI & Transplant programs, Virtua Health seeks to strengthen its signature Digestive Health organization and, in particular, the Gastroenterology program by recruiting top national talent clinician leaders. Specifically, we are seeking that unique individual who is, at the same time, a gifted BE/BCgastroenterologist, an energetic leader with a vision and ambition to develop a world class Digestive program and an ability to communicate that vision effectively across our approximately 50 employed/affiliated gastroenterologists and physician extenders, and 1000 physicians. The Vice President of Virtua GI & Digestive Services, working closely with her/his physician leaders and ‘triad’ administrative partners in operations and strategy, will be tasked with the following short and long term goals:

      • Organize the Digestive service line to create a collaborative, learning organization manifested by cross specialty collaboration that drives world class quality, safety, innovation and patient experience.

      • In collaboration with administrative leaders, implement a comprehensive multi-year strategy comprised of six “big rock” foundations that elevate the brand of Virtua GI & Digestive services across an expanded footprint of the entire Delaware Valley and, in doing so, propels Virtua to a regional destination of care for GI, Digestive and Tertiary care.

      • Evaluate all talent within the service line and recruit top national clinicians to meet the strategic goals set forth. Serve as leader, advisor to medical directors.

      • Co-Chair Digestive Steer Committee: Identify opportunities to grow specialty stakeholders on committee, facilitate socialization of strategy across enterprise & ASC’s with other key clinical committees and interact with all clinical and administrative leaders across the organization to outline and advocate for any and all resources needed to meet the strategic goals.

      • Work closely with clinical leaders to continue to translate GI key metrics to actions that create a world class quality and safety environment.

      • Serve as representative of the program to our ASC network leadership team: collaborate on key big rocks in strategic plan to build programs in the regional service area.

      • Advise future development of residency/ GI fellowship with Rowan University.

      • Work with Virtua Black Belts and management engineers to optimize clinical efficiency and seamless transitions of care.

      • Work in a close collaborative relationship with the GI and Surgery departments to grow and optimize the value of the evolving Motility Clinic.

      • Partner with Digestive leaders to grow an IBD subspecialty team to develop an internal program that increases access to innovative therapies and optimizes outcomes.

      • Review existing physician alignment models, workforce analysis and inpatient vs outpatient coverage requirements to identify gaps and opportunities to build the workforce long term.

      • Facilitate the development of ambulatory physician extender program to increase access at all hubs.

      • Work closely with the administrative team and Digital Transformation Office to continue to leverage our customer loyalty and engagement.

      • Collaborate with Fast Track Colonoscopy leadership team to continue expansion and leverage online access.

      • Guide a partnership amongst GI, Interventional GI, Surgery, Nursing, ancillary and administration to build the foundation for a successful Foregut program that becomes a regional center of excellence.

      • As clinical leader of the entire GI & Digestive service line, serve as a role model and spokesperson for our High Reliability ‘Journey To Zero Harm.’
