- You will work with ITS leaders and partners to set a clear enterprise strategy and operating model in data services, data governance, and data engineering hat is aligned with SNHU priorities. Develop a multi-year roadmap aligned with SNHU's projects, ITS priorities and technology strategies.
- You will oversee the collection, management, and storage of data across the organization. Analyze and obtain insights from data to inform business strategy and value.
- You will provide leadership in setting technical strategy and direction. Foster a design-driven culture ensuring adherence to industry best practices for systems/solutions development, data engineering, and data management disciplines across the University.
- You will establish procedures that produce high-quality solutions, data enablement, and services. Guide continuous improvements in the shared development/deployment model and the shared services portfolio.
- You will define success metrics ensuring partner understanding and tracking/reporting of KPIs/SLAs/analytics to appropriate members and executives.
- You will define, implement, and lead governance activities ensuring understanding of our goals and data, application, and integration architecture and design standards.
- You will promote knowledge sharing; operationalize a learning environment and knowledge base system for competencies.
- You will deliver Data Services, Data Engineering, and Data Governance support which promote value and Operational Excellence:
- You will provide strategic leadership to deliver a portfolio of hiqh-quality solutions for Data Services.
- You will provide strategic leadership to deliver a portfolio of hiqh-quality shared services for Data Management such as: Data Life-cycle Management, Data Quality Assurance, Metadata Management, ETL Development Service supporting data analytics and decisions.
- You will provide leadership for technical teams to ensure impactful demand management, prioritization and decision making.
- You will ensure understanding of resources, skills, and tasks to plan and complete main projects. Ensure delivery commitments are being addressed and resources are adopted and allocated.
- You will develop, manage, allocate and govern the annual budget for Data Services in cooperation with the ITS executive team.
- You will partner with appropriate ITS, business teams and vendors to develop standards to ensure approach, methods, tools, and operating processes. Evaluate workflow processes and provide ongoing optimization recommendations.
- You will build a High-Performing, Collaborative Team to Achieve Desired Outcomes.
- You will work with HR and ITS leadership to develop workforce plans that ensure solutions can supply highly skilled resources to meet our needs.
- You will lead by example demonstrating the highest professional standards to foster a collaborative and cohesive team which embraces SNHU's mission and values of respect, diversity, and inclusion. - You will openly lead collaboration across ITS teams and operations to provide a holistic approach to solving business problems, embracing opportunities to maximize our performance through the accelerated adoption and productive use of transformative methods and technologies.
- You will sustain high morale and level of engagement on your team through talent management.
- You have 20+ years of relevant experience, with 5+ years in a senior IT leadership role responsible for transformational IT projects, strategy, budgeting, and staffing. Experience should reflect successful demonstration of outstanding business skills, technical skills, people skills (collaborative leadership, influential) and soft-skills (innovative, visionary, inspires trust, results-oriented.)
- Bachelor's degree Required
- Experience with data lifecycle management, data governance, data analytics, data engineering.
- Experience with building/leading experienced, motivated, and collaborative teams.
- Experience managing complex IT systems and operational teams supporting important business systems.
- Experience implementing IT and organizational strategy to support overall strategic goals.
- Experience working with diverse functional organizations in a business partnering role.
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Systems Integration, Application Development, Data, Application, and Integration Architecture, Data Management, and Data Analytics.
- Excellent knowledge of IT principles and policies including Data Governance, ITSM, ITIL, Agile and DevOps.
- Expertise in complex budget planning and financial management.
- Strong financial, vendor and contract negotiation and management skills.

The opportunity
The ITS Vice President of Data Services, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, has primary responsibility for advancing SNHU's organizational capabilities in Data Services, Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Engineering. You will oversee the strategy, operating model and technical resources which ensure that data is managed through its lifecycle and optimized to achieve strategic our goals and deliver ongoing value. The VP of Data Services collaborates with ITS and partners to provide a design-driven, quality-driven approach to solutions development and data management with scalable shared services delivery across platforms. You will apply experience in software/solution development and enterprise data management, and high-performing technical team building to deliver shared services to help to promote the University's important platforms and digital transformation. This role can function 100% remotely with occasional needs to come into our headquarters located in Manchester, NH. #LI-Remote.
