- Organization Positioning and Messaging: Contribute to the development of BGCCF's marketing and public relations strategies. Collaborate with key internal stakeholders on crafting messaging, social media content, op-eds, statements, and briefing documents for executives, ensuring alignment with brand reputation strategies and community priority initiatives.
- Executive Preparation and Communication: Prepare BGCCF CEO and Leaders for events and media engagements. Serve as a primary communications point of contact, acting as a conduit between senior leadership and internal teams. Craft and disseminate regular updates for the Marketing department and multiple stakeholders, including the CEO and advisory board.
- Communications Strategy and Oversight: Oversee organization communications efforts, including developing and implementing functional strategies for the communications department, graphic design, and other related areas. Ensure alignment with organizational objectives and support amplification opportunities for major communications campaigns and initiatives.
- Project Management and Collaboration: Provide oversight of project management on related projects and initiatives across the organization to ensure cohesive collaboration and communication between departments and leadership. Collaborate with Executive, Operations, Events, Technology, and Development teams to execute campaigns and initiatives focused on members, stakeholders, and funder engagement.
- Operational Strategic Planning: Contribute to operational strategic planning, identifying opportunities to promote Club services, programs, and activities.
- Marketing and PR Improvement: Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve Club marketing and public relations activities.
- Market Research and Optimization: Conduct market research and peer benchmarking to identify opportunities for improvement in marketing and public relations.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Develop and maintain systems to measure the goals and objectives of marketing activities, reporting progress to the CEO.
- Financial Support Campaigns: Increase membership and build the Club's base of support through marketing and public relations campaigns.
- Event Promotion: Oversee the design and promotion of special events to raise awareness of Club activities and engage community support.
- Collaborative Fundraising: Work with the Development Team to promote and implement fundraising campaigns across digital channels, focusing on donor engagement and revenue support.
- Brand Partnerships: Coordinate with Brand Partnerships to execute campaigns that raise funds and engage supporters, ensuring alignment with BGCCF's mission.
- Budget Control: Manage marketing and public relations expenditures against budget. Ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products and services by vendors and consultants.
- Procedures and Formats: Establish and maintain procedures and formats for marketing and public relations materials.
- Best Practices: Continuously develop and apply best practices to market Club programs and activities.
- Fundraising Campaigns: Collaborate with the Development Team to create and implement fundraising campaigns across digital channels, focusing on welcoming new donors and engaging existing donors.
- Performance Tracking: Track key performance indicators, maximizing return on investment and solving problems creatively. Provide updates and insights to the leadership team.
- Market Research: Conduct research and benchmarking to support the Development Team, identifying opportunities for donor engagement and fundraising improvements.
- Strategic Communications Planning: Create, implement, and measure communications initiatives, including SEO/SEM campaigns, to enhance BGCCF's image and position within the nonprofit sector. Develop plans in collaboration with other BGCCF team members to achieve membership targets and strategic engagement.
- Brand Experience and Content Oversight: Serve as the strategic and creative visionary for the BGCCF brand experience, leading plans for themed campaigns, programs, and initiatives. Ensure consistent articulation of BGCCF's image and message. Oversee the production and distribution of print and electronic materials.
- Content Creation and Messaging: Produce content, including blogs, e-newsletters, videos, website content, and print media. Ensure brand messaging aligns with the organizational vision and unify communications across touchpoints.
- Public Relations and Media Management: Develop media strategies to promote campaigns and initiatives. Build relationships with media outlets and community partners to promote the BGCCF's mission. Apply creative approaches to public relations efforts and collaborate with public relations partners.
- Media Monitoring and Analysis: Track and analyze media coverage to assess the effectiveness of public relations strategies, identify opportunities for improvement, and respond to media inquiries and developments.
- Community Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders. Represent BGCCF at community events and meetings to enhance visibility and foster partnerships that support the mission and objectives of BGCCF.
- Current Affairs Monitoring: Stay informed about local affairs, Orlando Economic Development, and state, local, and national issues that could impact operations. Actively seek out new government grants and funding opportunities.
- Advocacy Participation: Participate in Boys and Girls Clubs Florida Alliance and Boys and Girls Clubs of America state and national days of advocacy. Collaborate with board members and the advocacy committee to advocate at the county, city, state, and national levels.
- Outreach Initiatives: Coordinate community outreach initiatives and programs to engage and benefit local communities. Work with the development team to create supporting collateral for donor engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, or a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or business administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Superior writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with experience in creating various types of content and stewarding donors, including creating supporting collateral to engage them.
- Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills, including managing a team and overseeing vendors, suppliers, and consultants. Familiarity with project management software is a plus.
- Proven ability to design and execute marketing and communications strategies, with strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of desktop publishing, CRM systems, web analytics tools, and non-profit fundraising software.
- Extensive experience in public relations and media relations, with knowledge of local media markets and familiarity with media monitoring and analysis.

- Supervise, hire, train, manage, and mentor staff.
- Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
- External: Maintains contact with members, families, alumni, community leaders, youth-serving professionals, other Clubs, media contacts, vendors, consultants, organizations, and others to achieve program goals and objectives, manage costs, share information, and resolve problems.
- The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments of an office or club setting, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals.
- Required to operate a motor vehicle.
- Work in environments frequented by children and families, requiring adherence to safety and conduct standards that ensure a child-friendly and family-oriented atmosphere.
- Must be adaptable to a dynamic work schedule, including evenings to support club activities and events.
- Physically capable of performing programming activities and club duties on-site, including lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
- Operates a computer and other office productivity equipment such as a copy machine, phone, printer, and tablet frequently. Requires the ability to work on a computer for extended periods (8+ hours), including performing tasks that involve repetitive motion, visual focus, and fine motor skills
- Visual and auditory acuity to monitor the environment and ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Mental resilience and the ability to stay focused and effective in a busy, sometimes noisy environment.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Marketing & Community Relations at Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF) is a key member of the Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO and working closely with various program departments and Club Teams. This strategic role is essential for driving BGCCF's marketing, branding, community engagement, and advocacy efforts to support the organization's mission and long-term objectives. The VP is responsible for developing and executing innovative marketing strategies that increase BGCCF's visibility, strengthen its brand identity, and build strong community connections. This role includes overseeing all aspects of brand management, communications, and public relations initiatives. The VP will ensure consistent and impactful marketing standards across the organization, leading the Marketing and Community Engagement team to deliver high-quality, mission-aligned campaigns. By fostering strategic partnerships and leveraging community resources, the VP will enhance BGCCF's presence and influence in the community, contributing to the organization's overall success.
