Overview Expected pay for this position is $97.47 - $129.15/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President, Operations and Special Projects is a key member of the medical center administrative team and assists OSF HealthCare in the fulfillment of its strategy and goals. Is accountable for planning, directing, evaluating, and improving the operations of the medical center. Leads several key projects that are key to the future success and growth of the medical center. Collaborates with the President to execute operational policies, determine short-term and long-term strategies, and drive employee engagement. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Leads the development, scope of service, and operation of the medical center in order to provide efficient and effective services, which support the core business of patient care and the Mission, Values, and strategic objectives of the medical center while maintaining compliance with all local, state, federal and accrediting agency requirements. Leads several key projects that are key to the future success and growth of the medical center. Ensures progress toward the achievement of fiscal year business plans and goals and ensuring new and /or revised programs and services established in the strategic and business plans are implemented successfully and in the appropriate time frame. Develops and administers annual operating financial plans and capital requests, in order to ensure annual business plans and goals are achieved. Assists leadership team in developing department financial targets, plans and goals, and resolving a variety of administrative and interdepartmental issues. Leads short and long term planning in collaboration with the President, while ensuring goals align with the overall OSF HealthCare strategy and Key Results. Collaborates with the leadership team to foster understanding of the Mission, Values, strategic and business plans, service and quality standards. Promotes integration and cooperative working relationships among hospital departments and medical staff to ensure effective delivery of services. Shares the teachings of Lay Ministry with subordinates and providing them the opportunity to understand the Mission of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis more deeply; responsible for supporting the Mission and applying it to the areas of responsibility. Works with Ministry teams to ensure timely execution of deliverables. Develops various presentations to the Board of Directors to secure necessary approvals, and to medical staff, department heads, and employees regarding new services, programs quality and service standards and performance improvement measures. Develops a strong working relationship between the medical center and external agencies and health care facilities. Assumes administrative on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis. Represents OSF by being an active member in the community through membership on local boards, committees, and/or service/professional organizations. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Masters Degree in healthcare administration or health care related field Experience: 5 years progressively responsible leadership positions in health care related field. Other skills/knowledge: Ability to develop relationships and manage strategic partnerships Ability to research and formulate approaches for complex health care issues Analytical skills to address operational issues, to gather and interpret operational, financial, and clinical data.
