      Project Controls Director

      This influential leadership role within AtkinsRealis Nuclear Canada encompasses the oversight and advancement of the Project Controls (PC) organization. It involves the functional leadership of highly skilled cost control, estimating and planning professionals, the establishment of innovative tools, high standards, and effective governance to ensure the consistent and successful execution of projects across our expanding Nuclear Canada business.

      How will you contribute to the team?

      • Responsible for the following functions in support of the overall Candu Energy Business Unit:

        • Project Controls

        • Estimating

        • Resource Management tools and associated development staff incl. Personnel Forecasting and Leveling (Integrated forecasting of staff needs across projects)

        • Levelized Cost of Electricity modeling for new nuclear new build estimates

      • Lead the recruitment and professional development of top-tier talent within the Project Controls function

      • Provide mentorship and support to Project Controls teams as needed.

      • Accountable for resource management within the Controls Disciplines.

      • Champion innovation by introducing streamlined processes and developing original digital tool solutions to enhance Project Controls practices.

      • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging lessons learned, and collaborating seamlessly with other business units within the SNC Nuclear sector and the broader SNCL group.

      • Serve as a key point of contact for clients regarding schedule management, change control, and reporting matters.

      • Provide expert guidance on planning, scheduling, and project control aligned with industry best practices.

      • Develop executive dashboards for weekly and monthly project/pro reporting.

      • Spearhead strategic program planning, defining high-level milestones and critical path components.

      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and refine project controls processes and procedures for consistent and coordinated implementation across the program.

      • Lead efforts to collect and interpret project information, focusing on issue mitigation and resolution.

      • Collaborate with cost management teams to integrate cost and schedule data effectively.

      • Monitor and challenge reports from PMC's, Contractors, and Design Consultants, escalating concerns as necessary.

      • Develop and monitor program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

      • Ensure timely and accurate execution of Schedule Management, Reporting, and Project Documentation Maintenance activities.

      • Monitor project performance and conduct health checks based on cost and schedule.

      • Support sector-level initiative to standardize project reporting and monitoring across multiple nuclear geographies.

      What will you contribute?

      • Bachelor's degree Engineering, Science, Business or 20 years of relevant experience.

      • Possession of PMP, PMQ, CCE. CCC or other relevant professional certifications an asset.

      • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Project Controls and Estimating.

      • A minimum of 5 years of consulting or client experience, preferably in a PMO/Programme Level role.

      • Strong teamwork and leadership skills.

      • Extensive experience in strategic planning.

      • Preference for candidates with digital proficiency.

      • Interface with senior levels of the organization (up to CEO levels).

      Travel / Mobility Requirements

      • Position will be headquartered out Mississauga Ontario with some travel to customer sites and potential for occasional international travel.
