      Job Description:

      A VIE mission for a Buyer has arisen within Material Procurement in Getafe (Spain) . The successful applicant will join “PMBC – Composites Procurement”.

      What is the VIE program? The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals in the EU the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. The VIE is a specific contract that is open to EU citizens, under Business France's eligibility criteria.       The mission of the Department is to

      • Define Procurement Strategy for supply of a large variety of composites products: Pre-pregs, Fibers, Honeycomb, Adhesives, Insulation materials, etc

      • Source products according to production needs. This includes:

        • running Calls For Tenders,

        • selecting suppliers,

        • ensuring best contractual conditions,

        • negotiating long-term contracts,

        • maintaining contracts during their life-time

      • Define and deploy cost improvement plans

      • Manage and mitigate risks inherent from our activity

      • Prepare for the future challenges developing new products and supplier capabilities

      • Lead the Multi-Functional Teams

      • Control suppliers in terms of performance & development

      • Be the Lead Buyer entity for the Group (Airbus commercial, Airbus Defense & Space, Airbus Helicopter,Airbus Atlantic, Airbus Aerostructure)

      The PMBC team is composed of a Senior Manager, and 12 buyers or subcommodity leaders located in Spain and Germany.

      The purpose of this VIE position will be to contribute to the cost improvement plan and future development for the A350 and other programs, in particular in the procurement subcommodity related to the Carbon Fiber Thermoset technology and Additive Manufacturing by performing the related Procurement activities with internal and external stakeholders.This project shall generate for PMBC a peak of workload generating the creation of this mission to support the project execution.

      The activities will include:

      • Participate in the alignment activities with internal stakeholders including participation to meetings, preparation of reports, planifications, etc

      • Support the procurement activities:

        • Collaborate in the creation of the Thermoset and Additive Manufacturing strategy

        • Negotiating agreements with suppliers

        • Preparing and participating in meetings with suppliers

        • Preparing Call for Tenders when necessary

        • Prepare and participate is cost saving identification meetings

      • Support Project Management Activities

        • Participate in the follow up committees and project review meetings and prepare the required documentation

        • Project Roadmap and action plans

        • Updated the Risk management plan

        • Communication preparation to internal stakeholders

        • Minutes of meetings

      The mission brings an opportunity to develop procurement skills in a motivating, challenging, innovative, and creative technical context.

      You will help develop end to end business solutions, directly influencing Airbus supply chain, industrial operations, environmental footprint, cost base, and EBIT.

      You will collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders all over the world to accelerate innovations, bringing value and differentiation to Airbus customers.

      Competencies and Skills:

      • Degree in Engineering or Business-related field

      • Fluent with office and presentation tools (eg. Google Sheets & Slides…)

      • Fluency in English: negotiation level

      • Ability to deal with several tasks, projects, and dimensions simultaneously, frequently in an unclear, uncertain, and fast-changing environment

      • Ability to summarize information accurately

      • Communication skills: written and verbal (eg. reports for upper management, presentations to internal and external stakeholders)

      • Good technical understanding of composite materials and processes would be a plus.
