      Job Details

      Handles access related requests for patients and families utilizing an automated call distribution software and protocols to efficiently and accurately schedule appointments during Virtual Check out.
      Supports our commitment to service excellence with a focus on first touch scheduling, registration accuracy and ease of access to all Jefferson Health services. Utilizing an advanced telephony platform, scheduling management system and care team communication tools, Enterprise Services demonstrate a commitment to service, follow-through and resolution to a large and diverse patient population. Central Service schedulers are required to consistently demonstrate accuracy of data collection and entry, critical thinking skills, solution- oriented interactions and the highest level of customer service.

      Job Description

      • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
      • Schedule patient appointments and register patients across the Jefferson Health System in accordance with established clinical and insurance requirements to improve access and care coordination.
      • Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to complete a virtual check out, which includes scheduling and registration. Confirm the appointments, update demographic information, and/or verify insurance benefit eligibility, answer inquiries and resolve user issues in accordance with established protocols to ensure patient safety, compliance and department policies and procedures
      • Coordinate orders, referrals, and insurance requirements by obtaining and/or confirming patient information to ensure the patient receives maximum benefits for service. Assure regulatory and compliance requirements following local payor coverage determinations.
      • Utilize Central Service telephony and digital software to efficiently handle assigned virtual check out volume.
      • Maintain qualitative and quantitative individual and team performance targets.
      • Coordinate orders, referrals, and insurance requirements by obtaining and/or confirming patient information to ensure the patient receives maximum benefits for service. Assure regulatory and compliance requirements following local payor coverage determinations.
      • Utilize Central Service telephony and digital software to efficiently handle assigned virtual check out volume.
      • Maintain qualitative and quantitative individual and team performance targets.

      Proficient in the use of computers. Type 35wpm. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical terminology used by insurance and managed care health plans. Bilingual skill a plus.

      Required to be on camera. The work environment must be free of excess noise and maintain all patient privacy restrictions.
      Required to be in Jefferson uniform with ID badge at eye level

      Education and Experience:

      HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
      Previous related experience preferred
      Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft programs, especially Excel and Word
