      Job Description:

      GDIT has an opportunity for a Virtualization Administrator supporting U.S. Army Europe on our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program in Wiesbaden, Germany. EMITS supplies Mission Command Support for U.S. Army Europe and AFRICOM.

      HOW A VIRTUALIZATION ADMINISTRATOR MAKES AN IMPACT

      • Configure, manage and maintain the physical and virtual infrastructures

      • Implement and maintain DISA STIGs

      • Design, document, test and implement virtual services and devices

      • Demonstrate advanced analytical skills by identifying the root cause of complex issues to maintain maximum service availability

      • Assess and evaluate current virtual computing infrastructure, and provide recommendations for enhancements

      • Install, configure, and integrate servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.

      • Performing backups, troubleshooting and problem resolution for servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.

      • Build highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment.

      • Build and configuring virtual networks.

      • Create and maintain VM templates used for rapid deployment of virtual machines.

      • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures

      • Create and defend system change requests

      • Develop, maintain and implement a proactive capacity planning model to support business decisions

      • Detects, identify and perform complex problem isolation and resolution throughout the virtual architecture

      • Develop and execute contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages

      • Maintain virtual desktop infrastructure

      • Support yearly disaster recovery exercises


      WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

      • Education: Bachelors Degree or H.S. Diploma with additional years of experience.

      • Certifications: IAT level II Compliant certification (i.e. Security+ CE, CASP, etc); VCP-DCV/NV 2021 (or higher)

      • Required Experience: 10+ years experience as a systems administrator

      • Required Technical Skills: Administration of VMware vCloud Foundation deployments; Administration of VMware Horizon VDI deployments; Administration of VMware NSX deployments

      • Security Clearance Level: Active Secret Clearance

      • Location: Wiesbaden Germany

      • **US Citizenship Required

      The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

      Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
