      Overview The candidate will be part of hybrid cloud automation team which designs, builds automation, and operates the global On-premises VMware environments of Siemens Healthineers (SHS). The automation Engineer is responsible for creating centralized automations in SHS on premise VMware datacenters. The person works with the Architecture, Development groups, Engineering, and Operations to establish standards, best practices, and automation infrastructure solutions. This engineer will provide technical guidance in automation by defining standards, assisting with research and design, and implementing the required technology for performing automated OS builds and application installs. This engineer will be responsible for designing, creating, maintaining, and continually improving orchestrated workflows to automate IT processes throughout the enterprise. This engineer is expected to work closely with other products teams like middleware, Database and compute, Security, Governance, Operations, and engineering groups to create automation solutions using native & 3rd party tools. Responsibilities Includes: Create and configure workflows using vRealize Automation 8.x (vRA) and vRealize Orchestrator 8.X(vRO) Create Blueprints (YAML) Serves as a subject matter expert for automation, orchestration, configuration management using VMware native technologies. Develop JavaScript & Python scripts to automate requirements in VMWare vRealize. Develop Linux/Windows scripting using PowerShell or Bash for remote configuration management of servers. Terraform knowledge (IaaC). Manage & operate ansible tower for configuration management across DC servers. Write playbooks for configuration management via Ansible and distribute to DC servers. Support the automation environment including troubleshooting vRA and vRO issues. Work on cross hybrid cloud platforms AWS & Azure and develop automate features. Supports the existing Automation Portals and provisioning scripts. Write functional test cases. Work with application teams to automate the installation of applications and middleware Develop and document automated workflows Work with business analysts and architects to define system requirements. Frequently communicate with users, and team members during program development to align progress and ensure that requirements have been met. Evaluate best approach to solve problems Present solutions and recommendations to stakeholders. Requirements & Technical skills Degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management or equivalent. 5 years of relevant experience in VMWare VRA automation & administration. Must have the full stack experience on VMWare modules from vSphere level all the way up to vRealize Suite 8.X Automation (vRA) and vRealize Orchestration (vRO) modules, vSphere REST APIs. Must have experience in creating Blueprints, publishing catalogs, Developing vRA and vRO/workflows, vRO configurations/integration. Must have strong OS operational level knowledge in Windows/Linux. And relevant strong shell scripting knowledge in PowerShell/Bash scripting. Proficient in JavaScript and Python scripting for developing automation in vRA platforms. Knowledge in Ansible & writing playbooks for configuration management is a plus. Knowledge in Terraform for on-premises orchestration is a plus. Certified with VMWare cloud management & automation or an equivalent certification is a plus. Knowledge in public cloud AWS/Azure is a plus. Great speaking, and written, communication skills. Strong knowledge of technology including backend systems storage, backup, and network components. Ability to communicate concerns clearly and effectively, issues to other teams.
