Support the engineering, design, and deploy highly available network services and solutions based on business, strategic, and technical requirements.
Manage the development of network infrastructure roadmaps, conduct feasibility studies, and review proposals with peer IT groups.
Identify, recommend and lead continuous network infrastructure improvement efforts
Troubleshoot infrastructure and LAN/WAN issues as needed.
Research and solve complex problems regarding data communication failures and requirements.
Provide oversite for Cyber security measures, updates, and patches for the environment.
Provide Technical Project Management for the network infrastructure
Establish and document standards, policies and procedures.
Provide guidance and support to network engineering and IT support staff in remote locations.
Occasional travel in support of new contract phase-in, and network enhancement.
Performs other duties and assignments as required.
Provide requisite technical training including documentation to network operators
Qualifications
Education/Certifications
Associates degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum CCNA/CCDA, higher certifications preferred
Baseline & Computing Environment certified in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M
Preferred Skills and Experience:
5-7 years of related experience
Network design, engineering and integration
Technical documentation and training
Extensive knowledge of Cisco router and switch hardware
- Extensive experience with Cisco IOS, NX-OS
Dynamic routing protocols
Project Management
- Experience implementing and maintaining ACLs/Segmentation/Security
Ability to manage outside service providers, consultants to accomplish defined projects
Strong organizational skills, and ability to lead projects with minimal supervision
Working Conditions
The worker may be required to spend extended time in a computer room environment.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

OverviewThis position is physically located in Balad, Iraq
Responsible for the evaluation, engineering, integration, operation, maintenance, cyber security, and evolution of the network environment. Provide project management at a technical level spanning multiple technologies and vendors. Develop network infrastructure roadmaps, conduct feasibility studies, and coordinate the review of proposals with peer IT groups. Identify, coordinate, and lead continuous network infrastructure improvement efforts. May be responsible for lower-level network engineers. Able to obtain DoD security clearance.
