      The Assistant 8th Grade Volleyball Coach supports the head coach in developing a competitive, positive, and growth-oriented volleyball program. This role focuses on teaching fundamental skills, fostering teamwork, promoting sportsmanship, and encouraging academic and personal development among student-athletes.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Assist in planning and leading practices that focus on skill development, strategy, and team culture

      • Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes in line with school and district values

      • Help manage game-day operations (lineups, warmups, in-game adjustments)

      • Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment

      • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff

      • Support academic accountability and monitor student-athlete eligibility

      • Uphold and enforce all CHSAA, school, and district policies

      • Attend all practices, games, and required coaching meetings

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and coaching strategies

      • Prior coaching or playing experience preferred

      • Ability to build positive relationships with middle school students

      • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

      • Completion of CHSAA required certifications and background check
