      LOCATION: History Center - 345 W Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55102

      COMPENSATION: Typical starting range $59,092.80 - $63,648.00 annually


      STATUS & HOURS: Full-time, regular (approximately 2,080 annual hours) position.


      BENEFITS: Eligible to participate in State Employee Group Insurance Program and a retirement program with employer contribution. Generous vacation and sick time accruals with additional paid holidays.

      DESCRIPTION: The Volunteer Coordinator oversees the MNHS volunteer program to support organizational goals and foster a strong culture of volunteerism. This role expands meaningful volunteer opportunities, promotes diversity and inclusion, and strengthens engagement across MNHS sites and communities. The MNHS volunteer program engages a large team of active volunteers and supports staff members and special events throughout the year.


      SUMMARY OF WORK: 1) Volunteer Program and Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of MNHS’s volunteer program through communication, coordination, and data analysis to recruit, support, and engage volunteers statewide; 2) Relationship Building and Recognition: Build relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners through communication, recognition, and engagement strategies; and 3) Organizational Culture and Workplace Standards: Model professional behavior, uphold organizational standards, and contribute to cross-functional teamwork.


      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

      • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in volunteer program coordination, nonprofit program management, or community engagement, including experience with strategic planning, program development, and stakeholder collaboration.

      • Ability to lift 10 pounds.

      • Ability and willingness to travel as needed.

      • Valid driver’s license.


      DEMONSTRATED SKILLS IN OR KNOWLEDGE OF:

      • Strong communication, training, and conflict resolution skills.

      • Experience working with diverse communities and promoting inclusive practices.

      • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.


      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Familiarity with CRM systems or donor management databases.

      • Ability to assess and implement operational improvements across multiple sites.

      • Knowledge of equity-focused engagement strategies.
