Job Summary
Volunteer drivers needed to cover Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
We're looking for someone who is friendly, caring, and compassionate to join us as volunteer car driver to provide transport for our patients to and from their appointments.
Join our ever-growing volunteer network and make a difference! You'll be supporting new patients whomay be travelling to their appointment for the first time or assisting patients with pre-planned appointments.
Anyone can become a volunteer driver, but you must:
Be physically fit
Be aged between 18-70
Have a current full driving licence
Have access to a clean, road-worthy car with a minimum of four doors and front and rear seat belts
Have fully comprehensive car insurance
Have a valid road tax and MOTfor the vehicle to be used
Attend an interview, where we can check all the above information and proof of identify.
Main duties of the job
Main duties
Keep a record of mileage incurred.
Make sure that all passengers wear seatbelts (in both front & rear seats).
Inform Volunteer Transport Supervisor as soon as possible if you have an accident, or if someone becomes ill/is injured in the vehicle.
Obtain information from the Volunteer Transport Supervisor regarding the names, address, and any accompanying passengers.
Transporting the service users to the required destination at the agreed time.
Warmly greeting the passengers and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
Before driving off, ensure that the passengers are comfortable and secure in the vehicle.
To report any matter of concern to the Volunteer Transport Supervisor.
To maintain confidentiality regarding information relating to service users and staff.
