      The opportunity

      ING, a multinational financial institution, has rapidly expanded its US Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) franchise over the past several years to become a key player across the global markets. ING has added Asset Backed Securities (“ABS”) as a product offering within our DCM platform and is now looking for a Vice President to further bolster our Asset Securitization team in New York City with a view to leading and growing the origination effort. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in ABS origination/structuring combined with a proactive, analytical mindset. You will become an integral member of our coverage team responsible for origination and execution of ABS issuance in the global capital markets and will also be part of the broader DCM product suite within the investment banking division of the US broker dealer.

      Day-to-day responsibilities will be comprised of:

      • Taking a leading role in all aspects of client coverage
      • Taking an active role in the setting of strategy for the Securitization product offering in the US
      • Taking responsibility for the timely preparation of relevant ABS research materials and pricing updates to be distributed to ING’s ABS clients and internally.
      • \Supervising the preparation of ABS Capital Markets pitching materials for existing ING clients and taking a leading role in origination efforts and follow up.
      • Taking a leading role in ABS Capital Markets transactions deal teams (e.g. model/pricing analytics, documentation and due diligence, roadshow logistics)
      • Identifying market opportunities by applying knowledge from various market sources (Bloomberg, macro-economic research, trade publications, etc.)
      • Liaising with other key ING internal stakeholders (in particular the client/sector coverage teams, other DCM departments in the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific, capital structuring & advisory, credit research, corporate sales, etc.) to identify opportunities, enhance internal cooperation and to maximize client touch points
      • Contributing to the automation of daily tasks as part of our effort to streamline and digitalize the business.

      Education

      Bachelor or Masters’ Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.

      Required skills and experience

      • Minimum of 5 years of ABS origination, structuring, and/or deal execution experience
      • Knowledge of international credit and rates markets as well as global economics
      • Strong understanding and experience with credit rating agency ABS rating methodologies in pertinent asset classes
      • Knowledge and understanding of cashflow modelling for ABS transactions, and accounting concepts
      • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Bloomberg, and Intex
      • Series 79 and Series 63 licenses

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders in other lines of business
      • Ability and desire to effectively supervise and coach junior team members of the team
      • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
      • Genuine interest for financial markets and global economics
      • Pursuing or having a CFA designation is a plus
      • Interest in sustainable finance and ESG topics
      • Creative in storytelling and writing, focused on framing the best possible strategy for the client
      • Go-getter, showing a level of initiative that allows us to take the business forward
      • Team player, willing to assist wherever needed
