      Job Description

      The Vice President, Audit Services is accountable for the oversight and delivery of high quality, professional, efficient, beneficial, and risk-based internal audit services for Global Technology and the Information Risk Management function under the Chief Risk Officer. The role is also accountable for auditing significant initiatives and transformation programs. As part of our Audit Services function, you'll contribute by working with management at all levels to improve the management of controllable risks, and provide a service to senior management and the Board of Directors by providing reports which assist them in discharging their responsibilities for overseeing the management of risk in Manulife.

      Job Requirements:

      • Ability to quickly understand business processes and their risk implications, analyze complex situations, reach appropriate conclusions, make beneficial and practical recommendations and influence management to take appropriate actions on recommendations.

      • Ability to work within a global environment within a matrixed organization.

      • Excellent knowledge of audit methodologies, control frameworks (COSO and CoBIT), risk management practices, and regulatory requirements (OSFI and other regulatory requirements relevant to Segments and Functions).

      • In-depth knowledge of project management and system development methodologies (including Agile); outstanding understanding of how technology supports business strategies, the latest technology and cyber security trends, best practices and industry standards and a solid understanding of risks affecting financial institutions and insurance industry.

      • Proven ability to work effectively in diverse environments and cultures and to ensure that a globally distributed team is highly engaged.

      • Experience working with external auditors (Statutory Audit, SOX, SOC 1 and 2 engagements) effectively and helping technology management understand the impacts.

      • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to effectively deliver key messages verbally and in writing and to listen and consider various perspectives

      • Confident presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all levels.

      • Demonstrated high employee engagement results and ability to lead and empower a large team of people in a new and constantly evolving environment.

      • Ability to see opportunities to utilize data analytics for enhanced depth and breadth of audit coverage.

      • University degree plus a recognized auditing (e.g. CIA, CISA), security (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CEH) and/or project management (PMP) with 15 years of business experience including 6 years at a management level.

      • The ability to balance multiple priorities and projects with strong attention to detail while retaining focus on the “big picture” and top risks.

      • Collaborate with management to obtain a consensus on establishing the problem, risks exposure, and corresponding recommendation to resolve the risk exposure.

      • Manage business unit management’s expectations regarding assurance and advisory work deadlines and results.

      • Establish a high level of credibility and build professional relationships with ELT and GLT members, and other senior leaders

      • Meet audit plan commitments while maintaining flexibility in audit schedules to meet changing priorities.

      • Drive continuous improvement in quality and cost efficiency of services provided.

      • Keep current with new audit techniques, company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and knowledge of the insurance and wealth management industry.

      Salary & Benefits

      The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

      Primary Location

      Toronto, Ontario

      Salary range is expected to be between

      $171,200.00 CAD - $317,700.00 CAD
