- Create the strategy for digital systems, robotics, automation, process controls, instrumentation, and data systems for the OT environment across GSC operating network of sites.
- Create standards for OT systems and provide governance for the applications deployment at sites.
- Discover innovative solutions and deploy them successfully to generate value increasing productivity and supporting product supply.
- Create and maintain Engineering Standards for the enterprise of the company.
- Deliver Engineering Technical Services in the areas of pharmaceutical/plant/facility engineering, operational engineering, life cycle maintenance, and compliance to the network of GSC sites.
- Develop strategic investment plans to deliver digital/robotics/automation infrastructure across GSC network.
- Accountable for the development and management of Engineering staff in the Manufacturing Group
- Develop enterprise architectural framework that informs investment plans focused on OT environment.
- Align resources, funding, and prioritization of projects across Digital & Tech, GPS, MFG, and Engineering
- Implement digital/robotics/automation solutions into operating sites to achieve intended payback/benefit.
- Manage department of directors and staff to deliver on goals and objectives.
- Manage OpEx and CAPEX budgets to targets.
- Engage with industry groups to benchmark and bring innovative solutions to GSK.
- Manage external partnerships with key solution and service providers.
- Ensure comprehensive Maintenance and Base Spend Plans are implemented at each site in the regions. This should include Preventative, Predictive and Reliability Cantered Maintenance programs as well as life cycle management assessments.
- Hold Technical/Engineering Authority for the Central Engineering group on specialized skill sets, such as Electrical Engineering and Containment.
- This role requires the ability to operate across the full span of location in which the vaccines sites are located; working with multiple diverse cultures, race, and governments to provide engineering leadership.
- Create and maintain GSK Global Engineering Standards; conduct TP13 audits to ensure adherence to standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, mechanical, electrical, automation, civil engineering degree)
- Relevant experience in Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading major Capital programs, Strategic relationship contracts, project management.
- Experience in engineering leadership across multiple, global sites; proven capability to lead teams (both line and matrix) to deliver business solutions and benefits.
- Managing change in complex situations; must be capable of solving complex problems related to variable engineering issues and challenges related to a company with working locations in multiple countries with different specific requirements and operational challenges from various parts of the business.
- Experience in building global strategies in conjunction with decisive leadership with innovation and performance in mind.
- Have industry network knowledge of Automation, Operational Engineering, and utilities operations.
- Have a knowledge of Regulatory requirements especially FDA, EMEA
- Experience leading teams both line and matrix) to deliver business solutions and benefits.
