      Job Overview

      As the VP, BWS Strategy, you will be a member of LPL’s Business & Wealth Solutions (BWS) team, focusing on developing, implementing, and executing business solutions and wealth management strategy. This role will report directly into the Senior Vice President of BWS Strategy & Innovation and play an integral role in developing and leading top BWS strategic initiatives. You will partner with leadership to identify, prioritize, and execute strategic projects that help advisors with critical aspects of running a business, expanding core capabilities, and improving outcomes. To do so, you’ll Take a data-driven approach to ideate and prioritize different options/solutions to execute prioritized initiatives, including evaluating impact on growth, investment needs and overall viability of the initiatives.

      Responsibilities:

      • Lead the development, implementation, and execution of top strategic initiatives
      • Take a data-driven approach to ideate and prioritize different options/solutions to execute prioritized initiatives, including evaluating impact on growth, investment needs and overall viability of the initiatives
      • Identify and evaluate potential opportunities, including articulating a clear path forward, building confidence in the value of our ideas, and prioritizing the ones with highest potential. This means having solid quantitative analysis skills and ability to “run the numbers” and steer team towards the largest value pools
      • Leverage qualitative (market trends and competitive intel and customer research) and quantitative (financial data, client business data, quant surveys) to develop actionable insights to inform strategy
      • Conduct primary research with advisors and end-clients (surveys, interviews, focus groups, user testing) to gather feedback on initiatives and strategy
      • Contribute to strategic efforts that are enablers to our innovation agenda (e.g., pricing, business model design, innovation strategy, product portfolio strategy, go-to-market strategy)
      • Develop and deliver strategy presentations to executive-level audiences, including management committee and Board of Directors
      • Evaluate build, buy, partnership options to enable short-term and longer-term delivery
      • Understand, quantify and prioritize the barriers and root causes that hinder successful strategy and acceleration of key business objectives
      • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including sales, marketing, product management, and operations

      Requirements

      • 2+ years post-MBA experience or 7+ years total experience
      • 7+ years of experience in either corporate strategy or strategy consulting in areas that include: product strategy, innovation and new ventures, service model design

      Core Competencies:

      • Experience at a top-tier management consultancy and/or strategy team at a financial services company; additional tangential experience with sales teams a plus
      • Strong relationship skills and experience influencing senior leaders
      • Proven track record of taking a strategy from ideation to execution
      • Strong management skills and ability to attract, develop, and retain talent
      • Proficient use of MS Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
      • Understanding of areas of specialization within the greater design landscape, including but not limited to Design Research, Service Design, Product Management
      • Excellent communication skills and great instincts about how to synthesize and tell a captivating story, build a deep rapport, and give honest feedback
      • Experience identifying and evaluating potential opportunities, including articulating a clear path forward, building confidence in the value of our ideas, and prioritizing the ones with highest potential. This means having solid quantitative analysis skills and ability to “run the numbers” and steer team towards the largest value pools
      • Experience translating learnings from discovery and concept validation into a tangible roadmap: mapping organizational and technological implications, enabler requirements, dependencies and modeling high level impact and value case
      • Superior analytical skills with an ability to identify relevant data + insights and present in an actionable manner
      • Superior presentation skills & ability to build a story narrative
      • Able to take complex topics and make them easy to understand
      • Be a strategic, lateral-thinking problem solver with human-centered design experience, comfortable with quantitative and qualitative analyses, comfortable working in complex environments
      • Deep knowledge of the advice industry, including customer trends, key players, differentiating capabilities, and profit drivers


      Pay Range:

      $136,120-$204,180/year


      Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
