      Job Summary

      The Vice President, Construction will serve as a technical leader and partner to leadership teams within Operations as well as internal partners within Sales, Product, Network Engineering, Network Management, Care and Logistics. The scope includes but are not limited to, managing the successful deployment and expansion of the company's network infrastructure as well as performing necessary changes, upgrades, and repairs by providing active leadership to all levels of the construction organization across the regions. This leader plays a pivotal role in executing against the company’s strategic vision to deliver a cost effective and best-in-class customer experience and serving as an engaged, hands-on, day-to-day leader across multiple regions. The Vice President, Construction will establish operational standards consistent with a best-in-class telecommunications company and foster a culture of employee engagement, continuous improvement, outstanding execution, and customer satisfaction. The Vice President, Construction must be an inspirational, influential, and persuasive leader capable of achieving excellent results through others.

      Responsibilities

      • Oversight and leadership of the entire Construction workforce, including regional leadership, local supervisors, internal employees but also contracted workforce working inside the construction teams.
      • Ownership of the network Deployment Strategy, implementing a comprehensive network deployment strategy in alignment with the company's growth objectives.
      • Accountability in projects planning and execution, creating deployment plans, managing external dependencies, prioritizing as necessary and reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs), with ability to oversee hundreds of projects simultaneously to timely and efficient deployment of network infrastructure.
      • Be an inspiring leader, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the network deployment team but also within the op. Your mentoring and coaching enable team members to reach their full potential, resulting in a high-performing and motivated workforce.
      • Partner across the senior leadership team to ensure an end-to-end, best-in-class customer experience is delivered while continuing to drive employee engagement.
      • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors involved in network deployment, ensuring a timely delivery of projects.
      • Prioritize network reliability and performance, implementing rigorous quality assurance processes throughout the deployment lifecycle. Your commitment to excellence ensures a seamless and superior customer experience.
      • Stay abreast of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the telecommunications industry. Your expertise in navigating regulatory challenges ensures the company operates within legal frameworks.
      • Serve as a strategic and technical partner to the Senior Leadership team to drive excellence in operational execution and rigor across all core functions and business processes. Provide insight and counsel relative to strategic planning and technical leadership.
      • Establish best-in-class processes and policies that improve the operational effectiveness of the company. Enhance established KPI, project timelines, cost to build, and ensure execution.
      • As a member of the Telecom & Construction leadership team, leader will identify, evaluate, test, track, and report on progress against key strategic priorities to enable growth. Push analytical rigor in thinking and decision-making. Deliver consistent operational results and improvement in the network delivery and customer experience year after year.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor with 20+ years of telecommunications/construction background; or Masters’ with 10+ years
      • Technical Construction leadership in a telecommunication company required
      • Experience in managing CBA
      • Deep knowledge of MSO broadband operations, with a mix of Construction, NOC, ISP, OSP and Field Ops preferrable
      • Knowledge of fiber design, fiber deployment and fiber installation required
      • Knowledge of permitting, make ready, manage relationships with pole owners, authorities required
      • Ability to manage strategic partners and 3rd party vendors to deliver objectives required
      • Tuned into industry trends, best-in-class processes and regularly looking to grow
      • Demonstrated success in leading technical operations and process improvements
      • Successful creation and implementation of world-class engineering, network, and service operations organization
      • Track record demonstrated through clearly identifiable metrics and a natural orientation towards measurements, numbers, and accountability.

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in Bethpage, NY is $178,500.00 - $293,250.00 / year. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in Long Island City, NY is $178,500.00 - $293,250.00 / year. For other locations, please inquire with your recruiter.
