- Develop and execute Combined North America corporate communications strategies, including public relations, executive, social, employee and field communications and community relations.
- Partner with Chubb Marketing and Communications teams in support of Chubb Workplace Benefits and Combined North America business and marketing opportunities.
- Manage the overall PR calendar, media contacts, and other company networking/PR opportunities/contacts, and databases, such as Cision and PR Newswire.
- Matrix with Combined Canada Marketing and Communications colleagues for Canada-specific opportunities and execution.
- Responsible for creating multi-channel communication plans & campaigns (i.e., stakeholders, audience, vehicles, calendar/timelines) aligned with the communications/business strategy.
- Monitor press and social media while continuously and proactively seeking PR opportunities to enhance Combined Insurance’s and Chubb Workplace Benefits brand positioning.
- Oversee Social Media team to provide a continuous flow of captivating content for the various audiences—influencers, customers, partners, community and employees.
- Partner with HR and other business partners to ensure clear and timely employee communications that drive positive employee engagement, awareness and understanding.
- Work with the Office of the President to develop and distribute targeted executive communications to external market and internal company stakeholders.
- Lead the community relations, events & sponsorships planning with key charitable/community organizations.
- Oversee and frequently write external and internal communications, such as press releases, media alerts, articles, case studies, thought leadership articles, social media blogs, executive employee communications and more.
- Oversee quarterly PR/Media/Communications reporting to Combined and Chubb leadership.
- Manage PR agency and staff and participate in marketing and other business leadership meetings as necessary.
- Strong understanding of and experience in press and media relations, contact management, and tools and technologies to distribute, monitor and report on public relations opportunities and activities
- Strong understanding of communication and marketing channels, including digital and social media
- Prior experience in insurance, health insurance and/or employee benefits related field preferred
- Outstanding written communication skills—writes creative, compelling, and grammatically correct communications, which incorporate key messages for the intended audience
- Possess strong ability to multi-task in order to handle a number of projects at once, while remaining flexible to changing business requirements and priorities
- A background in generating and pitching story ideas, arranging and managing interview logistics, creating media lists, handling media monitoring, and researching interview opportunities for spokespeople, etc.
- Ability to solve problems and handle complex detail. Uses independent judgment and takes initiative in absence of specific directions. Must have strong personal drive and initiative.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with a good sense for presentation, layout, and design.
- Strong performance orientation with a demonstrated ability to execute under tight deadlines
- Highest degree of integrity and ethics
- 10+ years of experience in Public Relations, corporate communications or PR agency, with minimum 5 in a leadership capacity; HR/internal communications a plus
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, marketing and/or communications
- Excellent interpersonal, consultative and communication (verbal and written) skills – highly collaborative with demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels in a matrixed global organization

JOB SUMMARY
The VP, Corporate Communications is responsible for Combined Insurance North America external and internal communications strategies and execution, including: public and media relations, executive communications, internal (employee and sales/field) communications, social media and corporate social responsibility. This individual will interface with Chubb North America Communications and Marketing leadership to drive aligned strategy and execution for internal and external communications that support the Combined and Chubb brands. The role will also interface with Combined HR leadership to ensure timely and appropriate employee and HR communications. The position requires a self-motivated, dynamic communications professional who is passionate about creative storytelling, building brands through compelling content, and leading communications that enhance the overall experience for both customers and employees. The VP, Corporate Communications will report to Combined’s SVP, Chief Marketing Officer and be part of the Combined North America and Marketing & Communications leadership teams.
