      Role Summary/Purpose:

      The VP, Physical Security/Fraud Intelligence Analyst is responsible for leading and managing a team that will be conducting in-depth analysis and research to detect, identify, triage and investigate intelligence for the Physical Security, Executive Protection and Fraud Special Investigations Teams. Working with these teams, our goal is to identify and mitigate persons looking to target Synchrony, its executives and/or its personnel. The position will interact closely with the Executive Protection Teams, the Complaints and Disputes Teams, the Communications Social Engineering team and the Presidential Escalation Teams.

      In addition, this position will interact with the Fraud Special Investigation Teams to aid in the detection, prevention, and proactive response to threats. This role will oversee the monitoring, collection, analysis, investigation & reporting on a wide range of possible threats using detective tools, open source and dark web sources to, enable the detection and mitigation of security and fraud risk. He/she will be part of a dynamic team working across the Physical Security and Fraud functions. The ideal candidate will possess prior management experience in leading a team of intelligence analysts in corporate or government sectors.

      Essential Responsibilities:

      • Provide direction and leadership to the Physical Security EP Intelligence team.

      • Assist in the identification and/or create a tool and work flow to centralize all collected intelligence information across all Synchrony functions, with cross functional capabilities for data collection. ·

      • Create metrics and dashboards to reflect performance and statistical accomplishments

      • Work with other leaders of intelligence teams and Synchrony teams that collect data that may contain threat information to provide best-in-class threat intelligence to a wide array of customers

      • Ensure the identification, evaluation and operation of tools and processes to ensure technical intelligence team can perform analytic tasks

      • Closely coordinate with the Execute Protection Team Leader, the Physical Security Leader and others as needed, to ensure the proper logistical planning and security controls are in place to ensure the safety of the protectees.

      • Ensure the delivery of expert security intelligence services and material to the appropriate groups for execution.

      • Interface with other leaders in physical security and fraud investigations to guide security executive protection strategies.

      • Enhance security monitoring and incident response to support the respective missions. Work with team members to enhance security monitoring tools with contextual information.

      • Consume both qualitative and quantitative data sources to produce research and intelligence products to support the needs of the teams.

      • Report actionable threat intelligence for execution by protective and investigative teams.

      • Develop and use predictive analytics to counter threats by tracking the intelligence and pursuing strategic and tactical efforts to mitigate threats.

      • Create threat assessments to understand relevance to the mission along with potential impact.

      • Acquire threat intelligence and technical indicators from external sources; develop tactical intelligence and technical indicators internally.

      • Leverage all identified Synchrony systems for automated threat intelligence sharing.

      • Interface with industry peers, government and law enforcement organizations, as appropriate, to acquire and share threat intelligence information.

      • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

      Qualifications/Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s Degree; OR in lieu of degree, 10 plus years of Analyst experience

      • Minimum 7 years of Analyst experience

      • 2 plus years of experience specifically related to the management of intelligence collection, analysis, financial investigations, working with law enforcement/intelligence, and/or financial risk, technology, or operations.

      • Minimum 2 years previous experience with online fraud, financial crimes, and fraud analysis required.

      Desired Characteristics:

      • Strong understanding of tools, techniques, and procedures associated with intelligence collection via social media, open source and the dark web.

      • Experience using a threat intelligence platform

      • Strong technical background preferred, but not required.

      • Understanding of Graphic Link Analysis and if possible Cypher coding.

      • Knowledge of Consumer, Commercial, and Wealth banking investigations with fundamental understanding of fraud and risk.

      Grade/Level: 12

      The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

      Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

      Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

      Eligibility Requirements:

      • You must be 18 years or older

      • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

      • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

      • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

      • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
