- Provide management of AMPAC and its Board of Directors to ensure efficient operation in compliance with all federal election laws and regulations. This includes implementing AMPAC's membership marketing and processing activities, working with all state level PACs, and to propose and implement innovative programs to enhance political grassroots involvement.
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art political and legislative grassroots programs on our priority advocacy issues to facilitate active participation and by physicians, federation and patients. Implement coordinated issue campaigns including research and message development, coordination within AMA and the Federation to maximize results, and implement new patient activism component to our campaigns.
- Through AMPAC, develop, implement and provide campaign support to qualified candidates for House and Senate, consistent with AMA priority issues, through direct contributions, in-kind services, partisan communications, independent expenditures and issue advocacy. Provide quality political education training programs that enable medical community
- Lead unit staff in achieving results, including hiring, developing, planning, motivating, evaluating and rewarding employees.
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 10+ General In health care organizations
- 5+ Specialized Experience On congressional campaigns, including campaign management, political fundraising and grassroots organizing
- Extensive background on Capitol Hill and knowledge of congressional procedures.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of federal election laws and regulations.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, political, managerial, and leadership skills necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels and to react quickly and appropriately in stressful situations

We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Washington D.C. for a VP – Political Affairs on our Political Affairs team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our DC Office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.
As a VP – Political Affairs, you will lead AMA's political action, legislative grassroots, political education and PAC membership initiatives in support of AMA priority issues. Oversee the operation of the AMPAC Board of Directors, manage AMPAC fund and assure compliance with all federal election laws, rules and regulations.
