Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements.
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure effective project execution.
Monitor and track project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and issues.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, IT, and business units, to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Communicate project updates and status reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and addressing concerns.
Manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
Allocate and optimize resources effectively to achieve project goals.
Identify and assess project risks, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of work experience in financial services, or in lieu of a degree, 11 years of experience leading cross-functional teams in the consumer banking industry.
At least 5 years of experience in Consumer Banking
Minimum of 5 years project management managing multiple programs/projects simultaneously. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
Proven experience as a Project Manager in the financial services industry, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
Ability to think strategically and evaluate opportunities; identify innovative enhancements to products, tools and technology and effectively build the case for support and plans for execution.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.
Strong quantitative skills with experience creating data-driven recommendations.
Project management skills with ability to manage multiple programs through a team-based approach in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional presentation skills and high emotional intelligence
Comfort working with and presenting to senior executives across the organization.
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. The VP, Strategic Initiatives – Synchrony Bank is an exciting new role that will report to the SVP, Strategic Initiatives - Consumer Bank. This role will play a critical role in overseeing and managing complex projects for the Consumer Bank. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects while maintaining a focus on quality, budget, and timeline. The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
