Lead the advancement of the Supply Chain end to end digitalization roadmap.
Lead a high-performing team, consisting of global process owners, to develop and facilitate execution of Supply Chain business operations.
Build and improve on adaptable and lean business processes to support Supply Chain transformation, enabling clear communication, prioritization, and escalation within and external from Supply Chain.
Benchmark industry standards for supply chain excellence across pharmaceutical and other relevant industries.
Develop a modern framework for straightforward and lean processes with foundations in MRPII.
Integrate with commercial business requirements, finance, and digital expectations.
Manage the execution of a complex multi-stage SAP deployment program.
Support regional and central supply chain functions with continuous improvement.
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Supply Chain business processes to measure continuous improvement.
Be a change agent and a dynamic leader. Effectively manage complexity within the organization and work with a sense of urgency regarding timelines, projects, and priorities.
S/he will have a strong execution orientation and a demonstrated ability to lead a global supply chain organization through a significant change and transformation management program using influencing skills.
S/he will have deep functional expertise in “supply chain excellence” and building and transforming supply chain processes, sales & operations planning, and measuring supply chain performance for a large, complex, global organization.
Strong experience in global biologics or vaccines organizations would be required. S/he should ideally have experience developing world-class supply chain processes and systems, including architecture and deployment of a control tower structure delivering end to end visibility of our value chain performance, and standards across a complex matrix organization.
S/he will have a track record of not only doing strategic, conceptual thinking, with a long-term view, but will also have a track record of influencing leadership teams to accept and execute those strategies and changes.
S/he will be an enthusiastic, customer centric, people leader with a humble, mature personality.
Vice President, Supply Chain Excellence and Digitalization must exhibit the following requirements:
15+ years of supply chain experience with demonstrated understanding of supply chain and operations processes from supply planning through distribution, including understanding of the interdependencies of functional groups.
Proven track record of successful delivery of improvement / transformation programs based on best Lean / Toyota Kata frameworks/practices.
Experience in GMP production, supply & demand planning, corporate strategy, logistics, and project management.
Proven track record of developing end-to-end-supply chain strategies and programs to improve supply chain efficiencies and effectiveness as well as developing the necessary controls to manage a fast-growing demand.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Business as a minimum, ideally with post-graduate education in Engineering or Business.
Experience in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology industries will be desired but other highly regulated experience considered “best-in-class” will also be considered for the position.
Experience in the design, build, and optimization of supply chain processes and systems with the ability to plan, assess, lead, and implement change in a fast-paced environment.
Proven track record of developing and deploying structure and process for a leading supply chain (e.g., S&OP, strategic sourcing, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to interact with other departments, employees and outside vendors and carriers are imperative.
Demonstrated experience managing interdisciplinary development teams and exceptional skills at facilitating teams and building consensus with membership comprised of diverse levels and areas of the company.
Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications.
Strong SAP implementation experience demonstrated through the leadership of multiple deployments.
The ability to create and articulate an inspiring vision for the organization, not only for the areas s/he is directly responsible for, but the enterprise.
The inclination to seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organization's overall strategy.

The Vice President, Supply Chain Excellence and Digitalization role is critical for Moderna’s future success. The Vice President, Supply Chain Excellence and Digitalization must ensure that Supply Chain strategies and initiatives are designed to meet requirements based on corporate strategies and portfolio lifecycles. S/he must establish a way of working that will improve the end-to-end Moderna Supply Chain both in terms of customer satisfaction and operating efficiency and effectiveness. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain (Craig Kennedy), the Vice President, Supply Chain Excellence and Digitalization will be a critical member of Moderna’s global supply chain team.
