To serve as a “hands-on” technical subject matter expert for the review, tracking and remediation of vulnerabilities of the monitoring application portfolio and cloud enabled products, providing moderately to complex vulnerability support and remediation to the organization. Function as a Vulnerability Engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with cloud-based resources and on-prem environments. Ensure operational stability, efficiency, change control, metric development, security/risk and integrity of the systems. The primary goal of this position is to resolve and reduce the number of vulnerabilities associated to the portfolio.
Responsibilities
• Lead, guide and mentor less experienced staff in vulnerability management and technical remediation
• Apply engineering principles into the review and remediation of system vulnerabilities for new and existing systems
• Document vulnerability Action Plans and the Technical Remediation process
• Ensure the security and integrity of systems and product solutions including compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering and Information Security principles and practices
• Perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of vulnerability management and remediation
• Perform engineering technology research to resolve vulnerabilities on systems and services
• Present clear, organized, and concise information to all audiences through a variety of media to enable effective business decisions
• Conduct root causes analysis of critical vulnerabilities, support and advise customers on their resolution
• Conduct hands-on learning sessions with key partners for successful vulnerability remediation
• Recommend, develop, and maintain accurate documentation for supported environments
• Participate in the change management process to resolve vulnerabilities at all levels
• Work across teams to support knowledge transfer of vulnerability management and remediation
• Willingness to learn new applications and services to support vulnerability remediation
Qualifications
• Information Technology Degree or equivalent work experience/certifications
• Minimum 5 years of “hands-on” experience in vulnerability remediation
• Strong knowledge of application, system software and infrastructure monitoring principles and practice.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of network architecture, protocols, routing, switching technologies
• Strong knowledge of application infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of on-prem to SaaS connections
• Working knowledge and understanding of support for the following Operating systems:
• Experience with the MS Server Operating Systems (2012/2016/2019)
• Experience with the Linux Server Operating Systems
• Experience trouble shooting errors related to MS and Linux Operating systems
• A solid technical understanding of working within a connected and distributed environment model of multiple technology stacks
• The ability to analyze and understand complex technical systems built from many separate software and hardware components, specifically web application architectures
• Experience using ServiceNow
• Working “Hands-on” knowledge of Splunk Infrastructure and Architecture design
• Preference will be given on administration experience with any of the following tools
• Dynatrace (Cloud)
• Logic Monitor (Cloud)
• Grafana
• Moogsoft AIOps
• Extrahop
• Broadcom APM (Cloud) / Spectrum

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.
Salary Range: $98,500 - $168,400 annually
Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.
