The Opportunity
This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
What You’ll Do
Safety (People and Product) - Properly uses equipment and materials and is careful about observing safety and security procedures.
Quality - Meets standards with a commitment to excellence. Looks for ways to improve quality and asks for feedback for ways to improve. Ability to produce error free work. Consider accuracy, neatness, and adherence to procedures.
Productivity – Consistently supports attainment of production goals. Demonstrates a commitment to increase productivity and works to a pace acceptable to ensure goals are met. Consider consistency and capacity to perform a variety of tasks.
Reliability & Commitment - Begins work on time, gives advance notice when time off is needed. Meets company guidelines for sick leave. Encourages, supports and actively contributes to the team.
Cleanroom Protocol – Consistently demonstrates proper gowning techniques. Keeps workspace tidy and wipes down workstation daily.
Understand and comply with applicable EH&S policies, procedures and guidelines and all manufacturing procedures.
Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy workplace culture.
Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or equivalent experience
Typically requires 3+ months of relevant work experience.
Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment is an asset.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own daily work to meet established schedule.
Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.
Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications.
Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.
Ability to work independently and in groups.
Knowledge of manufacturing within a regulated, cGMP environment.
