      Job summary

      Stockport eye centre at Stepping Hill hospital is looking for a ward clerk to come and join our successful teamStockport eye centre is unpredictable and fast paced with great job satisfaction. It is an area constantly developing with excellent learning and development opportunities.

      Main duties of the job

      Filing - tracking and ordering of medical case notes.

      Answering queries not only over the phone but in person as well.

      Helping the multidisciplinary team with information they require.

      Booking of transport; in a timely manner for appointments or discharge.

      Ordering of office supplies and ward supplies.

      The post holder must have good experience of IT systems.

      The post holder must be efficient and professional; to provide support to patients, relatives and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of an excellent service and positive patient journey.

      As a Ward Clerk the post holder will need to be able to organise and prioritise their workload.

      The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

      If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

      In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
