      Job Summary

      Oversee the daily operation of the warehouse.

      Support and enforce SQF / QA, GMP, Safety policies and procedures, and production needs. “Food Safety and Quality” are the responsibilities of this position.

      Essential Functions
      • Utilize D365 to maintain inventories on powder and butter packaging, Exopack bags, Syntex totes, dryer socks, dunnage, stretch wrap, pallet covers, tamper evident seals, other miscellaneous supplies and order as needed.
      • Responsible for overseeing powder and butter inventories, (Fresno Warehouse, Group Warehouse, Dairy America Warehouse).
      • Responsible for month end powder and butter packaging inventories.
      • Maintain a working relationship with vendors.
      • Responsible for office personnel, warehouseman and powder and butter package receiver.
      • Responsible for the Master Sanitation in powder and butter shipping and package warehouses.
      • Responsible for having the warehouse inspection ready.
      • Responsible for year-end inventory powder and butter audit conducted by outside auditor.
      • Troubleshoot any bag or tote issues with suppliers.
      • Work with outside warehouses on storage availability, Dairy America Warehouse and Group Warehouse.
      • Maintain pallet inventory and order as needed with pallet company.
      • Collaborate with pallet suppliers to resolve any pallet issues.
      • Responsible for the approval of storage, freight and related billing.
      • Coordinate with trucking companies and storage warehouses to return crossdock pallets.
      • Notify production employees and supervisors status of weekly production based on Dairy America request.
      • Provide weekly production to powder and butter production employees and management.
      • Responsible for checking and maintaining warehouse bug electrifiers.
      • Work with Dairy America on resolving customer load issues or concerns.
      • Research all customers loading complaints and respond in writing with a corrective action.
      • Maintain and oversee off spec powder inventory and report it weekly to management.
      • Provide a weekly report to management to follow- up on the powder operation.
      • Work with production staff on warehouse and production related issues.
      • Responsible for providing daily Avapac and bulk filler weight verifications to management.
      • Responsible for inputting and updating airboard and plant recap reports daily.
      • Responsible for observing and writing monthly safety observations on employees for safety management records.
      • Responsible for maintaining daily powder and butter production average spreadsheet to distribute weekly to management.
      • Responsible for the powder and butter warehouse housekeeping.
      • Responsible for following and enforcing working and safety rules.
      • Report violations of company policies, procedures and working rules to management.
      • Follow and enforce all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
      • Responsible for contacting maintenance when repairs are needed to warehouse facilities or equipment.
      • Responsible for attending all staff and corporate meeting and training.
      • Responsible for helping with vacation coverage of the powder and butter shipping clerk’s desk.
      • Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.
      • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute towards a quality environment.
      • Excellent regular full time attendance in support of company objectives.
      • Use initiative and judgment in making decisions, keeping with California Dairies Inc. best interests.
      • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
      Supervisory Responsibilities
      • This position has employee supervisory responsibilities for the entire facility.
      • Complete on the job training reviews.
      • Coordinate on the job training.
      • Oversee adherence to company policies and procedures.
      • Oversees scheduling of management, employees, and temporary labor.
      • Have the responsibility of reviewing time sheets and addressing overtime.
      Qualifications

      Education and/or Experience

      A BS degree in Dairy or Food Science or other related field and four years of experience in a leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required.

      • College level verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate with upper management on a daily basis.
      • Leadership, team development, coaching, and / or teaching experience.
      • Simple math reasoning required.
      • Excellent organizational and follow through skills.
      • Ability to self-direct work to a timely completion
      • Excellent written and spoken English.
      • Basic computational skills required.

      Language Skills

      A well-modulated tonal volume is required with excellent diction skills needed.

      Reasoning Ability

      Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.

      Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

      Must possess or be able to obtain California State Pasteurizers License and California State Sampler's and Weigher's License.

      Physical Demands

      The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.       Sitting/Standing/Walking: The Warehouse Plant Supervisor stands throughout their shift. The Plant Supervisor walks on uneven concrete and tiles surfaces.

      Lifting/Carrying: The Warehouse Plant Supervisor lifts up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis and 80 pounds on an infrequent basis. Two or more employees complete lifts of greater than 80 pounds.

      Pushing/Pulling: Some pushing or pulling could be involved in assisting operators make hook ups of piping or equipment.

      Bending/Stooping: The Warehouse Plant Supervisor stoops throughout the workday, for varying lengths of time. The Plant Supervisor may have to bend and stoop when servicing product pumps and during clean up duties and when picking up items off of the floor.

      Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling: The Warehouse Plant Supervisor may assume any combination of these positions during cleanup duties, including kneeling on the floor and crawling under equipment. The Plant Supervisor may squat to use legs for leverage when using a large wrench to open product presses.

      Twisting/Turning: The Warehouse Plant Supervisor may assume any combination of these positions during cleanup duties. The Plant Supervisor may be required to work in tight places.

      Climbing/Balancing The Warehouse Plant Supervisor is involved in the loading out of condensed skim milk, requiring climbing a flight of stairs to the top of the tankers and balancing on the tanker while making the necessary hook ups and opening of the dome covers. The Plant Supervisor is involved in the inspection of processing equipment, which could involve climbing 100 steps to the top of the dryers or evaporators.

      Reaching: The Warehouse Plant Supervisor reaches at or above shoulder level at various times during the shift when making adjustments on the control panel or making pipe fitting connections or washing silos. The Plant Supervisor may have to reach during clean up assignments or to climb vertical ladder.

      Grasping/Manipulating: Frequent use of the hand and fingers is required.

      Equipment

      Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to: hearing protection, bump caps, hair and beard nets, gloves, and safety glasses must be used in the performance of duties. Proper lifting techniques must be employed at all times.
