      Job Description

      Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be required to deliver an efficient and cost effective warehousing solution to accommodate the requirements of the Aylesford operation and achieve the necessary service levels whilst operating with the legal limits. Monitor daily operational targets / KPIs ensuring these take into account Company standards and agreed Customer service level parameters during your shift.

      Working hours: Wednesday to Saturday nights, 19.00-07.00

      Salary: Up to £49,852 per annum.

      Key Duties of a Warehouse Shift Manager:

      • Identifying the training and development needs for departmental Team Leaders and coach/organise/oversee solutions using own knowledge and company training tools.
      • Ensuring all practices and procedures are carried out in line with legislation and Company Health & Safety policy and HACCP.
      • Monitoring and controlling costs and proactively manage them against budget.
      • Ensuring stock counting and control procedures are followed and that stock counts are completed in an accurate and timely manner as per customer requirements.
      • Ensuring that M.H.E. check / inspection procedures are followed.
      • Attending management meetings as appropriate and produce management reports and statistics as requested.
      • Liaising regularly with operations and all other departments and sites to develop strong working relationships.
      • Maintaining department discipline including time keeping, conduct and performance using the Company disciplinary policy and procedures with the support of HR and escalating issues when necessary.
      • Overseeing the effective application of the Company absence policy and procedures including monitoring of absence levels and conducting return to work discussions.

      Qualifications

      • Previous experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment.
      • Good working knowledge within a Warehouse and Logistics operation.
      • Great knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
      • Experience of managing and motivating a large team.
      • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
      • Attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Computer Literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
      • Strong and effective communicator at all levels.
      • Be proactive and able to make decisions.
      • Work and communicate effectively across multi functional departments.
      • The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
