- Ensures employees are complying with company/department policies, ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP, and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Front line management and supervision of the warehouses and pick-line operations.
- Provides updates, briefings, feedback, and reports to the Distribution Manager.
- Assists the Distribution Manager in developing and implementing capital projects.
- Works with fellow Shift Managers in a coordinated manner, supporting company/department goals and objectives.
- Supervises full-time, part-time, and temporary employees on one or more shifts, providing them with:
- Direct supervisor for Working Supervisors and all other warehouse personnel.
- Staffing assignments.
- Shift scheduling.
- Training (job & safety).
- Discipline in accordance with company policy.
- Paycom review of employee’s time transactions, approving or denying requests for time off, and pay period approvals.
- Maintains a monthly a product movement (received/warehoused/picked/shipped) accuracy rating of no less than 99.6%.
- In the absence of the Inventory Control supervisor, the Shift Manager will provide supervision and guidance to the Inventory Control staff, Bottle Wall Staff, and associated clerical staff.
- Statistical analyses and reports of product flow.
- Daily review of schedules, case counts, and dispatch sheets.
- Implements product flow measurements and targets.
- Evaluates shipping errors, correct staffing or procedures.
- Verifies outside vendor’s invoices (from AP) for items received and or work completed.
- Verify and approve invoices for payment.
- Manages product locations and placements, maximizing available room for incoming products.
- Manages product locations and placements for efficient picking.
- Reviews and update standard operating procedures.
- Develops and implements new standard operating procedures.
- Maintains a professional business relationship with outside departments.
- Ensures that inhouse labeling is efficient and accurate.
- Administrator for training programs (ISO, SOP, IVES) and safety programs.
- Use IFS, IWS and associated computer reports for tracking and efficiencies.
- Monitors supplies and equipment, submitting requisitions as needed.
- Ensures product is shuttled out of bottling and placed for shipment.
- Develops and implements motivational programs for the staff.
- Provides for initial, upgrade, and cross training.
- Manages staffing to meet, but not exceed, department requirements.
- Manages the inventory to acceptable variance levels.
- Ensures shipping and receiving of case goods meets scheduled times.
- Receives, warehouses, picks, ships, and documents all case goods activities.
- Conducts daily inspections of each warehouse, ensuring products are in good order, properly placed, and ensuring all areas are clean and presentable.
- Conducts daily inspections of equipment and facilities, correcting or reporting any deficiencies.
- Monitors recycling, making sure that cardboard, plastic, and wood pieces are separated and placed in prescribed recycling bins. Ensure that waste plastic and cardboard is compacted.
- Ensures the proper identification and placement of tax paid, in bond, and export products.
- Maintains a good working relationship with all personnel.
- Manages spoils and rework, coordinating spoils disposal with the Bottling Manager.
- Conducts staff meetings, informing staff of daily tasks, goals and issues.
- Evaluates employees work performance on a regular basis, giving them feedback on their strengths and weaknesses. New employees are required a thirty, sixty, and 90-day evaluation, along with an annual evaluation of all hourly employees.
- Orders pallets and ensures the pallet yard is clean and orderly.
- Performs annual weekend plant duty.
- All other duties as assigned by the Distribution Manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of five years of warehouse experience.
- Two years in a supervisory role.
- General warehouse and logistics experience preferred.
- Warehouse management.
- Trailer sizes and load configurations.
- Federal and state weight restrictions for over the road loads.
- Scaling tractor and trailer for axel weights.

JOB STATEMENT: Under the direction of the Distribution Manager, the Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the affairs of all Bronco affiliated warehouse operations on a given shift. Shift Managers are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient product flow for receiving, warehousing, picking, and shipping of case goods and associated products and materials. This encompasses the staff, products, materials, equipment, and facilities. The Shift Managers work as a team in carrying out company practices, policies, and the Distribution Manager’s directions. The shift manager must be able to work at any Bronco affiliated warehouse when manning is needed and is able to work any shift when manning is needed.
