      We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Warehouse Supervisor to support our Bowling Green, KY U.S. based facility.

      JOB SUMMARY

      The Warehouse Supervisor will initially join the core project team responsible for the new Bowling Green plant launch. This role will be responsible for helping to develop the process standards and related training for establishing the warehouse. After the production launch, the main function of the position will be transitioned to supervising operations supporting lithium-ion battery production by leading a team of logistics associates and material handlers in a manner that facilitates the strategic use of company resources. The warehouse supervisor will have oversight of dock operations, trailer lot audits, systematic material movements, shipment of customer orders, receipt of incoming trailers and tracking/ordering packaging material needed to support customer shipments. This role will be involved in arranging logistics and creating shipping paperwork for customer orders, component part returnable containers, and any other items that need to be shipped from the facility.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.

      • Establishing a warehouse and strategy to ensure optimum product flow and storage of materials.
      • Ensures safety is always the number one priority; promotes a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines.
      • Contributes to the execution of the hiring plan by helping to update job descriptions and postings, interviewing candidates, and participating in hiring decisions.
      • Updates job descriptions and postings according to the hiring plan, organize interviews, interview candidates, and participate in hiring decisions.
      • Assists in creating master training plan along with an evaluation system in accordance with the AESC Production Way. Periodically reviews program progress and effectiveness, adjusting as needed.
      • Conducts staff meetings and positively lead the team to achieve all Key Performance Indicator goals and implement the continuous improvement mindset.
      • Assists in the development of an annual business plan. Participates in periodic KPI meetings and institutes countermeasures to remediate gaps in achievement.
      • Oversees staff in the systematic and manual processing of component and finished good material movements/warehousing, transition of components from the warehouse to the production floor, auditing/management of the trailer yard, arrangement of logistics for empty container returns, customer orders (domestic & foreign), dunnage, etc.
      • Completes hazardous materials training for shipping Li-Ion Batteries
      • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment. Monitors safety performance and facilitates implementation of action to improve safety performance. Proactively identifies and addresses safety concerns before an accident occurs.
      • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
      • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.

      MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILTIES

      Has warehouse and other professional subordinates including material handlers, shippers, receivers, etc. Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; leads employees to establish team and individual annual goals that relate to corporate KPIs and guide them in tracking these goals for each phase of a project; interviews and selects employees; provides timely feedback in terms of performance; recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates. As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

      OTHER JOB DUTIES (Not considered essential to the job)

      • Performs all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience):

      The requirements listed below are minimum requirements for the job.       Minimum Qualifications -- Experience

      • Five or more years of Supervisory experience, providing leadership, coaching, guidance, and training, contributing to staff development. Supervised subordinates or contractors with differentiated roles and functions.
      • Is knowledgeable of the material flow through an industrial manufacturing facility and is skilled in logistics arrangements (incoterms, coordinating movements, etc.)
      • Expert understanding of principles, concepts, practices and standards related to supply and logistics system information management.
      • Experience working in and maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and others relevant to company processes.
      • Professional communication skills are essential when conversing and negotiating with internal and external contacts.
      • Experience working to improve all logistical aspects of the supply chain by streamlining processes.
      • Preferred minimum of 3 years of experience supporting the supply chain function in a manufacturing environment or warehouse.

      Minimum Qualifications – Education

      • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, at least 5 years of related experience will be considered.

      Computer Skills and Required Software Experience

      • Proficiency with Supply Chain Management software and enterprise resource planning application experience, such as SAP, is preferred.
      • Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use logistics software to input data and research parts.
      • Familiar with the functions and controls of a Warehouse Management System.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

      The physical requirements described below are representative of those an employee must normally meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.       • Ability to remain in stationary position 75% of the time.
      • Ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

      • Ability to bend, lift and/ or twist.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT

      The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
