      Overview

      VTG is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor located in San Diego, CA


      What will you do?

      Leads the warehouse team in developing and executing materials management strategies and ensuring customer satisfaction. Must have expertise in developing, improving and executing warehouse processes including experience in inventory management, transportation, distribution, shipping, delivery, logistics and customer service.

      Specific duties include:

      • Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in warehousing and distribution.
      • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to warehousing and delivery to customer/job site. Includes receipt, handling, storing, issuing, allocating space and physically controlling items within the movement and distribution system and facilities.
      • Uses Warehouse Management systems, determines lead times for transportation, and manages schedules for timely delivery. Responsible for material handling equipment, transportation equipment and storage facilities.
      • Ensures that warehousing and deliveries support division requirements.
      • Takes corrective action with quality control personnel, customers, and vendors on defective or unacceptable goods or services.
      • Provides training and development for warehouse personnel.
      • Requires experience in inventory management, receipt, warehousing, transportation, shipping and delivery, field distribution, material handling equipment and customer service
      • Receives and may unload incoming materials, supplies, and equipment; compares information on packing slip/invoice to verify accuracy noting any corrections; records discrepancies or damages and handles in accordance with company requirements
        • Counts, sorts incoming material verifying receipt items on invoices
        • Examines material to verify conformance to specifications
        • Processes receipts and issues in material inventory system
        • Stores material in bins, floor, or shelves according to size and type of material
        • Fills orders or issues material from stock
        • Compiles inventory reports of adjustments with inventory counts
        • Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on material
        • Coordinates, packages, marks, and records items for shipment and prepares necessary documents and records
        • Distributes material among production sites, keeping record of material issues, determines best method of storage, identification, and material location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits
        • Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments
        • Operates forklift and pallet jack equipment and has the ability to obtain a forklift license.

      Supervisory Responsibilities

      • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of subordinate positions.
      • Provides on-the-job training as required for warehouse personnel.

      Do you have what it takes?

      • Bachelor's degree and one year of warehouse and leadership/supervisory experience.
      • High school diploma or GED with four (4) years of related experience; Three (3) years Defense Contractor experience; associate degree with one (1) year of related experience; bachelor’s degree; or combination of education and related work experience. Experience in supply chain functions: logistics, and warehousing/supply; solid experience with NSN & MILSPEC, WEBFLIS, and Deltek/CostPoint
      • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, well-developed interpersonal skills required.
      • Must be a US Citizen.
      • Must be at least 25 years of age to drive company vehicles.
      • Valid Driver's License.
      • Ability to obtain a forklift license.
      • Must have a clean driving record.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Defense contractor experience, strong program management (quality, cost, and schedule) skills, and intermediate to advanced knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and Microsoft software (Access, Project, Office) are highly desirable.

      VTG’s base pay range is $65,000 - $89,000 annually which is a general guideline for the California geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or market considerations.
