  Job Description:

  Warehouse Workers are active throughout their day, working as a team to process freight through the USPS bypass mail system. You will palletize cases and prepare pallets to ship to rural Alaskan communities. All while being conscious of the team’s safety.

  Reliability is key, as you are part of a larger team/customer base that will depend on you to be punctual and deliver daily.

  Our warehouse and distribution teams do more than pick orders and pack pallets; if you are looking to build a career, Safeway has growth opportunities that will allow you to build experience and move throughout our company.

  Basic Work Requirements:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Work well in a team environment to accomplish the day’s work
  • Detail-oriented and able to have accuracy in case selection and tagging stores
  • Repetitive lifting, including bulk cases averaging 30 lbs. and weighing up to 85 lbs.
  • Comfortable operating pallet jacks and heavy warehouse equipment
  • Able to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, and walk/stand continuously for shifts ranging from 8-12 hours

  Preferred Work Requirements:

  • Experience operating pallet jacks and warehouse equipment
  • Experience receiving DSD/Vendor Purchase Orders
  • Computer literacy
