      Organization

      The Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972. RMA partners with local churches to meet the spiritual needs of the people we serve. The Thrift Stores provide revenue to support the Rescue Mission drug and alcohol recovery programs.

      Summary

      The Warehouse Worker position will assist Floor Associates, Cashiers and Production crew to complete all necessary tasks. This position reports to the Thrift Store Supervisor. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position located in North Hollywood, California. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime and benefits according to applicable guidelines.

      Essential Duties & Responsibilities
      • Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions of site.
      • Clean and organize production area.
      • Close production and staging areas.
      • Maintain organization and cleanliness of store, offices, bathrooms, parking lots, front entrances and break rooms.
      • Front area support (hangers, bagging, customer service for carry out).
      • Unload trucks when necessary.
      • Operate forklift.
      • Perform 'floater' and 'unloader' duties (trash removal, barrel removal, assists sorters).
      • Unload and sort donation carts.
      • Separate salable items from recycle, baler and trash.
      • Assist preparer when necessary.
      • Track carts and time on board and with pricer for production report.
      • Minimum requirement for 30 minutes per hard goods carts and 15 minutes per clothing carts.
      • Put out remaining merchandise onto sales floor.
      • Maintain organization and cleanliness of production and warehouse including parking lot and front entrance of store.
      • Load textiles and e-waste.
      Other Duties & Responsibilities
      • Ensure task checklist is completed daily.
      • Perform daily forklift inspection.
      • Maintain MSDS inventory.
      • Ensure all chemicals and supplies are in stock.
      • Check to make sure all electrical appliances are turned off at end of shift.
      • Load and unload dump truck.
      • Comply with RMA Safety Program.
      Supervisory Responsibilities

      There are no supervisory responsibilities to this position.

      Qualifications
      • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
      • Demonstrated work ethic with consistent attendance and punctuality.
      Skills
      • Must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service, and be able to multi-task.
      • Forklift operating experience.
      Software

      There are no software requirements for this position.

      Physical Demands
      • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. work on feet for long periods of time.
      • Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties
      • Hands-on position, including moving boxes, lifting merchandise, etc.


      Work Environment

      This position will function in a thrift store and warehouse environment, will also be working in proximity with an at-risk population where errant behavior and disease risk may be present. Appropriate safety considerations will be required to avoid illness or injury.
