      Team Overview

      The Warranty Claims Examiner is a critical team member of our Residential Warranty Claims team. This position is based in our Corporate Office in Parsippany, NJ.

      Summary

      The Warranty Claims Examiner will be responsible for interfacing with all levels of management and customers addressing questions regarding terms and conditions of applicable warranties, warranty settlements and product information. This position will report to a Warranty Claims Supervisor.

      Essential Duties

      • Handle incoming calls from property owners, contractors or sales employees.
      • Open, maintain and update claim files.
      • Prepare customer letters.
      • Conduct timely follow ups with internal and external customers as necessary.
      • Provide support to Sales employees and GAF Inspectors.
      • Accurately assess proposed settlements through the correct application of the applicable warranty.
      • Seek timely and accurate authority for payments in excess of assigned authority through the Warranty Claims Supervisor or Manager.
      • Effectively communicate claim information and recommendations for resolution to all levels of management.
      • Handle customer issues and disputes in an effective manner with a minimum of supervision.
      • Ensure that the proper requests for information are distributed on a timely basis and that results from the laboratory, inspections or claim committee sessions are quickly and effectively communicated with all applicable parties to the claim.
      • Schedule roofing inspections and meetings with internal and external customers.
      • Provide department support for absences, assist on special projects and general office duties.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Under This Roof, We Require

      • An Associates' or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
      • Minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service environment is required with a preference for any background in the insurance industry, working with contractors or in a roof related field being a plus.

      • Proficient in Google Business Suites or Microsoft Business Suite.
      • Basic knowledge of standard roofing concepts and practices.
      • Solid Math skills.
      • Advanced telephone skills.
      • Intermediate negotiation skills.
      • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
      • Advanced listening skills with an ability to fully understand the complexity of a problem and the ability to offer good solutions by providing a high level of customer satisfaction.
      • Ability to multitask, work effectively with a team and possess the talent to provide contributions as a team member is an essential requirement.
      • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
      • Intermediate Problem Solving and creative thinking skills.
