- Operate and maintain water and/or wastewater treatment equipment in accordance with state and federal environmental protection limits and company policies.
- Prepare and submit required reports, including meter readings, tests, chemical usage, and other related records, adhering to state regulations and contractual obligations.
- Safely handle a variety of chemicals, such as lime, chloride, caustic, and mercury, in compliance with safety standards.
- Clean and maintain treatment plant facilities, ensuring housekeeping standards are met as outlined in the contract.
- Perform mechanical tasks within the scope of training and expertise.
- Operate small frontend loaders, forklifts, skid steer loaders, and dozers as needed for job assignments.
- Complete pre-shift inspections, equipment checks, and other relevant pre-operation procedures to ensure safety and functionality.
- Report and address safety or environmental concerns immediately, following project guidelines and local regulations.
- Work with minimal on-site supervision while maintaining regular check-ins with the Operations Representative or project supervisor.
- Operate autonomously with the ability to make decisions within the scope of the project or tasks, seeking guidance on complex issues.
- Plan and execute assignments involving significant or complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Experience in wastewater treatment, preferably with reverse osmosis systems.
- Prior experience in wastewater treatment, preferably from a municipality.
- Ability to navigate rough terrain and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Reverse osmosis and microfiltration experience preferred.
- Experience with circular clarifier systems preferred.
- Ability to perform general labor tasks such as shoveling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience operating small frontend loaders, dozers, and lifting equipment preferred.
- Prior experience as an operator or in labor-intensive roles is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team coordination.
- General understanding of mining operations is preferred.
- Basic computer and technology skills for data recording and communication.
- Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions as required.
- Ability to travel frequently, including flying, for project or contract duties.

Job Description
The Water Treatment Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various processing equipment, including water treatment systems, solution balance, sample collection, data recording, and retrieval of sample data. This role involves handling potentially hazardous chemicals, monitoring and controlling water and slurry flows, reagent addition, and operating pumps, valves, piping, and other related equipment. The operator will make necessary calculations and adjustments to maintain operating parameters within specified limits, and conduct regular inspections to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
