  Job Title: Water Resources Engineer

  This position is available in various locations including Vienna, VA, Richmond, VA, and Virginia Beach, VA, with Virginia Beach being the most preferred location.   Responsibilities

  • Produce final construction documents.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data and assess conditions.
  • Develop local and state permit applications.
  • Prepare technical reports and research regulatory codes, manuals, and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project success.
  • Design various types of stormwater management facilities, including bioretentions, green roofs, permeable pavements, stormwater ponds, manufactured treatment devices, and underground detention facilities.
  • Develop and execute stormwater operation and maintenance programs for entities owning large stormwater management assets.
  • Model and analyze local and FEMA floodplains for existing conditions and proposed alteration condition studies.
  • Design large culvert/bridge crossings and analyze and permit state-regulated dams.
  • Perform dam breach inundation studies, operation and maintenance permitting, alteration permits, emergency action plan development and execution, annual dam inspections, and other dam-related activities.

  Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of civil or water resources engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred) and H&H modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-1, HY-8, Flowmaster.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain one is preferred

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with ArcMap or similar GIS software.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification preferred.

  Work Environment

  Experience a modern office environment with open office spaces and break rooms, fostering a collaborative atmosphere with an open door policy. This is a hybrid position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
