      HDR is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Business Group in Springfield, Missouri. This individual will support our on-going work load, working on a variety of projects as well as managing small to medium sized projects and assisting with the development of new opportunities in municipal civil engineering. Previous experience in planning, design, construction administration and management of projects including water and wastewater conveyance and treatment as well as storm water drainage is desired.

      In the role of Water/Wastewater Engineer, we'll count on you to:

      • Take responsibility for performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
      • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
      • Function as technical specialist or project manager on small to mid-size projects as needed
      • Supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
      • Perform other duties as needed

      Preferred Qualifications

      • MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred
      • A minimum of 4 years experience designing and creating plans and specifications and construction administration for water and wastewater projects
      • Preference is given to local candidates

        Required Qualifications
        • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
        • Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
        • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
        • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
        • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
