Law | Law ReserveUnder the direction of the Director, Communications and Public Relations, the Web and Graphic Design Specialist will manage our website: www.moritzlaw.osu.edu, Intranet, and support the primary graphic design needs of the Moritz College of Law. The Web and Graphic Design Specialist will combine the art of design with the art of programming to make a visually appealing website with an exceptional user experience. They will transfer the design mockups to technical implementations that will define how the application works. This position plays a key role in our overall digital strategy and will integrate social media and digital storytelling into current website and communications plan. The Web & Graphic Design Specialist will monitor web innovations and make recommendations for new features and tools. Responsibilities include upgrading and maintaining this multi-state website, using Drupal to ensure high performance, consistency, and a great user experience; and, assisting with back-end maintenance of databases, custom forms, and online payment options. Other duties include creating collateral to support key college initiatives and serving as one of the College’s certified digital accessibility evaluators. Moritz’s Office of Marketing and Communications is set up as a professional creative team. The Web & Graphic Design Specialist must be able to work as a team player, be flexible, and be a creative problem-solver under tight deadlines. This position also works with a variety of faculty and staff from Moritz and across the University.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or related area required or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Two years of relevant work experience is required, including experience in writing, print publications, web publishing and project management. Knowledge of Drupal (or similar system), HTML, PHP/MySQL, CSS, Google Analytics, ADA website compliance requirements, and Adobe Creative Suite required. OSU Digital Accessibility Evaluator certification is required to be completed within the first year if not already certified.
Desired Qualifications: Experience with iMovie or Final Cut Pro and photography experience
Additional Information:
The actual salary will fall within this range based on the candidate’s experience, internal equity and the unit’s available budget.
