      A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Weber Innovation High, for an IVC Coordinator and Testing Aide. This position is for 8 hours per day, 9 months per year. Job Description: 9th Grade Program Coordinator Monitor 9th grade student progress Prepare/assist students working toward early college courses Work Closely with student advocates at feeder schools and assist traveling teachers when necessary Work with the principal to manage and update the PCBL grant from USBE Stand in as proctor for test taking (occasionally) Assist the Innovation Studio manager with WIHS Student Projects What’s Up newsletter Send out information requests each month Organize newsletter and collect pictures/information continually Make sure newsletter is sent out by the deadline Assists with Chromebook issuing to all WIHS students Check out chromebooks (filling in/helping our main Chromebook person) Check in chromebooks Coordinating with school’s technology specialist for chromebook issues/repair Chromebook organization Chromebook updates coordination IVC Coordinator College: Getting all college courses started each day (IVC equipment is on and working prior to the start of class). Resolve technical difficulties in the IVC broadcast Take roll when applicable Proctor all IVC courses prompting attendance in college courses Continual contacting parents of any attendance and/or poor grades (below C) Training of all students taking college courses on how to be successful in their college courses ] Continual monitoring of college courses and making sure the environment is educationally stimulating (students on task, students are behaving, students are participating) Collect Data on student numbers taking college courses, number of students taking them (percentage vs all students) and grades Maintain a productive learning environment for early college students Mediate communication between University instructors and WIC students Proctor exams for early college students Testing: Weber Online Testing (BYU and Canvas) State Testing (Aspire) ACT testing Reading & other tests Data gathering & organizing (state tests, ACT, ect.) Coordinate the lab schedule with teachers, staff, and third party events Google Slides Update (College Students & Courses) Update google slides on college students and number of courses they have earned Essential Functions Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students and parents. Articulate vision for academic excellence and assist students with setting immediate and long range goals that will assist students in reaching their future career plans. Meets regularly with the Lead Counselor on program planning and implementation. Assist students individually or in small groups by facilitating structured homework sessions as well as teach supplemental lessons (i.e. math, reading, writing, language, science, history, etc.) in order for them to pass their classes and be online to receive a high school diploma. Assist with volunteer tutoring services (e.g. student volunteers, study buddies, etc.) for the purpose of arranging and coordinating additional services for students as needed. Confers with counselors, teachers, parents, and community agency personnel as appropriate for the purpose of assisting in the evaluation of students’ progress and/or implementing students’ academic/behavioral objectives. Establishes student contracts (e.g. daily tracking, tutoring/mentoring, incentives for meeting goals, and passing all classes each quarter, etc.) for the purpose of building the students confidence and improving their academic and study skills. Prepares and maintains a variety of records and/or files such as: master list of students, services receiving, parental permission forms, daily attendance and progress reports, monthly placement reviews, and quarterly progress for the purpose of providing program effectiveness for each student. Provides ongoing feedback for the purpose of informing the counselor, teacher/s, and parents/guardian of student progress. Resolve technical difficulties that arise during an IVC class period. Serve as the school’s testing coordinator. This includes scheduling, preparing, and proctoring all state-mandated testing. Other duties as assigned by Office personnel.
