      Diakon is one of the premier employers in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We are a non-profit organization which includes Diakon Child, Family, and Community Ministries and Diakon Affordable Housing.

      General Responsibilities:
      • Responsible for directing the operation of assigned shift of the Weekend Alternative Program and coordinating actives, resources, and staffing with other programs to assure smooth operations
      • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
      • Provides leadership and supervision to participating youth and staff.
      • Coordinates with Wilderness Services to organize and staff planned adventure-based experiences throughout the year, including overnight trips.
      • Attends meetings and other activities to assure efficient operation of the overall program.
      Education/Training: A BS or BA degree in human services or a related field of study normally required. Successful completion of Pennsylvania DHS Medication Administration course within 90 days of employment required.
      Experience: A minimum of one (1) years of experience normally required with supervisory experience preferred.
      ADA: Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills

      Staff receive excellent training through a comprehensive paid general orientation including customer service training. Diakon also maintains a discretionary emergency fund, which can be of assistance to staff members during critical times. In addition, Diakon offers a Love of Thy Neighbor Fund, which provides a per-day living expense and matches up to five PTO days for approved service or mission trips with other nonprofit organizations.
