- Dismantle and take apart various ship components.
- Handle gasket material out of the channel.
- Lock latches and pins with a dog on the other side.
- Adjust shims and put them back up.
- Strip out old rubber and install new rubber.
- Adjust hinges.
- Assist and work collaboratively with another team member.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Experience with mechanical work.
- Skill in Stick welding (SMAW).
- Skill in Fluxcore welding (FCAW).
- Experience with stainless steel welding.
- FCAW with 71T certification.
- SMAW with 7018 certification.
- TWIC card.
- Experience in ship repair, shipyard work, rigging, and marine maintenance.
Job Title: Welder
Job Description
We are seeking stainless steel welders for local Bay Area Shipyards at Mare Island, Alameda, and San Francisco. The position is initially for at least a month with the potential for long-term full-time employment depending on performance. Crews can consist of up to 10 members. While shipyard maintenance experience is a plus, it is not necessary. A bead test will be conducted to verify experience and determine pay level.

Work Environment
This position involves working in Bay Area Shipyards located at Mare Island, Alameda, and San Francisco. You will work in teams of up to 10 members, tackling a variety of ship maintenance and repair projects. The work environment is hands-on and requires collaboration with other team members.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00
