      Job Title: Welder


      Job Description

      The TIG & MIG Welder is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining welding equipment to perform precision welding of stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel components. The ideal candidate will have experience in both TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) processes and be comfortable working from technical drawings and welding symbols to meet tight tolerances and quality standards.

      Responsibilities

      • Perform TIG and MIG welding operations on various metals and thicknesses.
      • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
      • Prepare and clean components for welding, including grinding, cutting, and fitting.
      • Fabricate fixtures and jigs to support welding activities.
      • Inspect welds for quality and conformance to specifications.
      • Maintain welding equipment and ensure safe operation.
      • Follow all company safety protocols, PPE requirements, and welding procedures.
      • Assist with fit-up and layout of parts and assemblies.
      • Collaborate with team members, inspectors, and supervisors to ensure project timelines.
      • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

      Essential Skills

      • Strong ability to weld thin gauge and heavy plate materials.
      • Able to pass weld tests such as TIG root and MIG fill/cap.
      • Experience in HVAC, pressure vessels, or structural fabrication.
      • Familiarity with jigs, fixtures, and shop math.
      • Conduct visual inspections and complete quality control checklists and documentation.
      • Confirm materials conform to drawing specifications.
      • Maintain high-quality workmanship in compliance with HVAC industry standards.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • 3+ years of experience in MIG and TIG welding.
      • 1.5+ years of experience in pipe welding.
      • Proficiency in welding preparation including grinding, cutting, and fitting.
      • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
      • Understanding of heat transfer, thermal expansion, and metal joining techniques.
      • Brazing Certification (TSSA or equivalent) is a plus.
      • CWB Certifications are desirable.
      • HVAC Certification from a recognized college or technical school is advantageous.
      • Occupational Health and Safety Training is beneficial.

      Work Environment

      This is a full-time position, working within a team that includes 2 welders, 2 refrigeration specialists, an electrician, and 1 maintenance personnel. For this project, you will collaborate with over 20 colleagues, including mechanical and electrical assemblers. The facility is shared with another company, ensuring a diverse and dynamic work environment.

      This is a Contract position based out of Brampton, Ontario.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
