- Perform Flux Core and Stick welding on thicker 1/2" carbon steel plates for vessels.
- Engage in back gouging and Sub Arc welding for vessels.
- Weld smaller tube sheets using TIG or MIG welding techniques.
- Interpret and work from blueprints.
- Execute root and hot pass welding.
- Conduct tube to tubesheet welding.
- Work with various alloys such as Inconel, duplex, 300 series stainless, and Hastelloy.
- 3+ years of experience welding thicker materials.
- Proficiency in Flux Core welding.
- Proficiency in Stick welding.
- Experience with back gouging.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with TIG welding.
- Knowledge of alloy welding (e.g., Inconel, duplex, stainless steel).
- Experience with Sub Arc welding.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, especially for laying a MIG root.
- Experience with TIG welding on thinner materials.
- Heat exchanger experience.

Job Title: Welder (Nights)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team in a Vessel and Heat Exchanger company. The primary focus will be welding thicker 1/2" carbon steel plates for vessels using Flux Core and Stick welding techniques, with extensive back gouging. Occasionally, you will use Sub Arc welding for vessels and TIG or MIG welding for smaller tube sheets on specific projects.

Work Environment
Our medium-sized shop employs 40 personnel and operates in a non-climate-controlled environment, working through all seasons. The workforce is experienced, and employees are ready to help and share knowledge. The dress code includes steel-toe boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The night shift operates Monday to Friday from 6:00 pm to 4:30 am, with occasional Saturday work as needed. Expect to work around 60 hours a week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaumont, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00/hr.
