Job Description
- Req#: 2901
- Apply knowledge of welding processes, procedures, equipment, and evaluation techniques to deliver weld quality objectives.
- Implement weld quality strategy during launch and product or process change events.
- Train and assist weld inspection team.
- Develop weld control plans and enforce requirements.
- Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
- Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using Root-Cause analysis, PDCA Cycles, Fishbone analysis, etc.
- Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently.
- Support expedited concern resolution with cross-functional teams including the Quality Department, Maintenance Department, Production, and Suppliers.
- Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality within Body Shop and initiate containment as necessary, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in: Welding Technology, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
- Robotic Welding exposure in a manufacturing setting.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using 3D Software (CAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Ability to work overtime, as needed.
- 3+ years' experience in a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment.
- Automotive industry experience and vehicle body assembly experience is a plus.
- Experience in an automated industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to robotics, automated material handling systems, and communication networks.
- Working understanding of quality fundamentals, basic measurement methods, and statistical process control (SPC).
