Welder and Machine Operator (2nd Shift)

Job Description

We are looking for six dedicated individuals to join our joist shop team. You will start by learning the machinery and then proceed to welding classes, where you will operate welding machines and ensure proper assembly of joists. This role requires teamwork and attention to detail as you work on an assembly line.

Responsibilities

• Weld and operate machinery
• Monitor machinery to ensure proper functioning
• Work in a team to assemble joists
• Read and follow schematics for joist assembly
• Operate laser machines and other machinery as needed
• Perform cleaning and sweeping as needed
• Handle materials and perform touch-up painting

Essential Skills

• Experience with MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is a huge plus
• Ability to read schematics
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a team

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• No certifications required
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial atmosphere
• Strong attendance and reliability

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing plant where structural steel is fabricated for bridge work. The work environment is hot in the summer and cold in the winter, with a lot of loud noises and dirt. Shift hours are Monday to Friday, with mandatory Saturdays. The base pay is $20.07 per hour with a $3.00 shift differential for the 2nd shift. After 90 days, there will be a pay increase to $20.70 per hour. All new hires are eligible for production bonuses.
