- Provide appropriate practical and emotional support ensuring that each service user has a support and risk management plan in place
- Monitor service users’ well-being and support needs, provide advice, assistance
- Ensuring all records and IT data on systems remains updated with accurate and up to date information in line with contractual requirements.
- Delivery of service through sign posting, direct referral and encouraging wider community involvement
- Management and mitigation of service user well-being risk and escalation in line with policy and procedure.
- Experience of working with vulnerable and diverse client groups
- Ability to identify individuals and family need and recognise the required support packages to maintain independence
- To communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to work under own initiative.
- You will be supportive, trustworthy, a good listener, approachable and empathetic to others

Full time - Permanent - 40hrs per week
Including Company vehicle and fuel card plus overtime/callout premiums
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team here at Mears as a Welfare Support Officer. Based in Newcastle. We are offering a salary of up to £27,000 plus great company benefits which include fun days paid for by the company, discounts on high street shopping and online retailers, health insurance and much more
You will primarily be a Welfare Support Officer proving practical and emotional support to service users, monitoring service users’ wellbeing and support needs and ensuring all records are updated and accurate for home office audit purposes.

We are looking for an experienced Welfare Support Officer who can identify individual and family needs, use your own initiative and be supportive, approachable, and trustworthy to service users, clients, and colleagues.
