- Participating in Performing Arts department meetings to discuss and strategize around programming for upcoming seasons
- U pdating and maintaining Performing Arts archival documents
- Assisting department with day of show needs including:
- Assisting with artist hospitality
- Acting (along with a PA Senior Producer) as liaison between artist and Wexner Center front of house and technical staff.
- Assisting with merchandise sales (if applicable)
- Brainstorm community engagement and outreach ideas dependent upon scheduled performances along with Performing Arts Senior Producers.

- emerging professionals with less than 5 years of experience in the arts and culture or nonprofit fields.

Wexner Center for Arts | Performing Arts-JMThe Performing Arts intern supports the Performing Arts department at the Wexner Center for the Arts, which presents singular artists and companies from around the world who are transforming the creation and practice of contemporary dance, music, theater, and cross-disciplinary forms. The Performing Arts intern will collaborate with full-time staff as well as visiting artists and companies to fully realize and produce one of a kind performances, residencies, and workshops. This position will engage directly with artists, performers, and technical staff and must maintain a friendly, professional, and inquisitive demeanor.
In addition to departmental responsibilities, all Wexner Center interns participate in a center-wide internship cohort. To support this cohort, the Learning & Public Practice department offers professional development sessions and gatherings that interns are expected to attend throughout their internship. We welcome feedback on the internship program as a whole and seek to foster a collaborative and generative environment for all interns.
Responsibilities:
Based upon their learning objectives and availability, the intern will support both administrative work, as well as shows and performances when possible. Duties include:
Requirements:
Curiosity, an empathetic and congenial working style, and some flexibility in schedule. Candidates must be available to work 5-10 flexible hours per week (determined between supervisor and intern) with occasional evenings and weekends.
Applicants must have a strong interest in contemporary performing arts and inclusion and diversity. Excellent organizational skills, communication, and writing skills are necessary. Experience in dance, music, theatre, or any other type of performance art either through performance, administration, or technical application is a plus, but is not required.

Additional Information:
Term: This internship takes place over the academic year (Fall 2024 – Spring 2025). Position renewal possible.
Compensation: Pay range is $11 - $14/hr. Amount and method of payment will be determined by candidate experience. The Wex can also support course credit work through the candidate’s home academic unit in lieu of monetary compensation, if preferred.
